Chapter Nine

Am I in my own dreams now? This was where I met pegasus. The crystal lake. I gasped. Pegasus was standing in front of me. "Thank you for trusting me."

He walked towards me, his head held high. "My gift to you."

He lowered his head. I could feel his mouth on mine then hands behind my back.

Hands? No. It must be my imagination. Feeling curious, I opened my eyes and saw...a real human in front of me! A handsome one too and he was kissing me. I am not sure whether this is a dream or the real thing.

He pulled back and stared at me with his golden eyes. My eyes widen. "You...managed to lift the curse?"

"No. I can turn into human when I have enough energy. After a few minutes, I will turn back to normal."

I bit my lip and stared at my feet. He was too handsome to look at without going mad. I could feel his hands tilting my chin up to face him. "Do you want to know my name?" He gave me a cheeky grin.

I nodded. "My name is Aelios, guardian of the silver crystal and prince of Aradia. This was all about me." He looked at me with his golden eyes for a few seconds before rubbing his thumb on my cheek. "You are really beautiful."

Aelios lowered his lips towards mine and kissed me. I wrapped my arms around him while his hands were placed on my back. Few minutes later he pulled back and smiled at me. "I have to go now. Please remember that everything you see or felt was real."

I gasped and opened my eyes. His name was Aelios? Pegasus's name was Aelios? He told me. Finally he told me! I got out of bed and put on a simple green dress.

I went downstairs to get sone breakfast. Rinata was in the kitchen cooking. Gran was watching some kind of drama in the living room.

"Hey, there are some freshly cooked pancakes on the table. That was meant to be yours."

"Thanks."

I ate the pancakes in silence. Rinata and I went for our archery lessons in the afternoon.

Kathy, my classmate, invited me to her brother's party. She told me wear something nice.

Her house was just a few metres away from mine. I wore a pink dress with black boots. I braided my hair and wore some jewellery. I did not put any makeup on my face. When I looked at my reflection in the mirror, I was shocked to see a beautiful girl there. "You looked beautiful today."

Aelios whined. "As pretty as a rose."

I blushed. "Thank you, Aelios. I will not be home before ten so...goodbye."

"Good luck."

When I entered the house, loud music was blasted into my ear. I winced and looked for Jeff, Kathy's brother. "Hi! You came." Jeff took my hand and led me to the library, where some of the kids were chatting with each other. At least it was quieter in here. "So, how was your relationship with Wills?"

"He is my friend."

Jeff bursts out laughing. "Don't try to hide your feelings. You love him!"

"Who told you this?" I said, coldly.

"Samantha Hardres."

"I don't love Wills! There was nobody I love."

Then my thoughts wandered to Aelios. Why do I keep thinking about him? Do I really...love him?

Jeff suddenly turned serious. "Try considering it. He was handsome and cute. Playful and loving. He was your ideal man."

"What...do you think about...love?"

"Well, you see. When you love somebody, you will keep thinking about him and when he is gone, you will miss him like hell. When you are together, you want this moment to continue forever. That was the meaning of love...according to the book."

When I was together with Aelios, I do want this moment to continue forever and...when he was gone, I do miss him like hell. Do I really love him? "What book?" I asked.

"Some kind of love novels. So, Wills is waiting for you downstairs. I think he wants to talk to you."

Jeff waved his hands and yelled. "After ten minutes, please go to the living hall! We'll start our lovely party."

Everyone cheered and clapped. I slipped out of the library and went downstairs. Wills saw me and smiled. "Liana! Over here."

"Oh, hey."

"We met again. So, do you want another dance or kiss?"

"Stop joking! You know I am still mad at you for kissing me the other day without my permission."

Wilks pouted. "Aw, come on. Don't be mad at me. I am too cute to be mad at."

"Wills!"

Teresa waved at him and gave me a death look. "What are you doing here?" Today she was wearing a sleeveless dress with purple heels. Her makeup was very thick. Wills glared at her. "You-"

"Yes, me. So, the other day-"

"I told you not to talk about it." He said, gritting his teeth.

"Ah..."

"Go away! Go dance with someone else."

"Fine! But, meet me at my house at ten tonight. I have a secret to tell you."

Teresa sneered at me and walked away. I sighed. "The party will be starting in another three minutes. Lets go."

Okay, this is short! I haven't got the time to write a long one because, I have lots of homework at school. But luckily, I managed to finish most of it. :)
