----------------so sorry about the wait. I found out that im moving! Also, ive had a lot of writers block but, i try to write when i have time. This chapter is super short, i just wanted you guys to have something while i work on the rest . I walked back to my hotel after going to the institution. I didnt have to save him. I could forget about Matthew and focus on getting away from Savannah. But, then again, the guilt would have overpowered my conscious and that would just be annoying.
I turned down a hiking trail, deciding i needed to clear my head. Around 15 minutes later i started to notice the twigs snapping beneath my feet every time i took a step, paranoia caused me to have unnecessary anxiety which i shoved down with each breath. 'psst..' My head shot up at the barely audible sound. Its time to go back. The hotel was about four blocks away, if i run ill be back in 5 minutes. I turned around nothing on my mind but to escape whatever tried to get my attention, illusion or not. I started to sprint back, immediately regretting my decision when i tripped on a rock. My head hit the ground first. "Fuck!" I summoned all my strength into getting back up but failed.
"After almost a year of escaping one of the worlds most secured compounds and still managing to get away, I must say Alex. This. This is not what i was expecting." A man in a black hoodie emerged from behind one of the trees. He was laughing, but i knew only one person who had that laugh.
"Zero? Is that you?" I moved myself to sit up against a tree, the pain clear on my face, "I- I think i have a concussion."
"In the flesh, babe. Whats your hotel room number? I promise not to take advantage." Zero pulled down his hood, the dark making it hard to see his features.
"Dont call me that, pervert. Just get me out of here. If you found me, they wont be too far behind. I-I.." Darkness started closing in on my surroundings, i couldnt stay awake much longer. "Shh Shh. I have a place not far from here, I'll get you help. Alex, stay with me." Zeros tone got serious when he realized how bad my injury actually was. He picked me up, and started walking. Thats when i realized, i forgot about my plan. i forgot about, "Matthew.." as soon as i said his name, my body became weak and i didnt have enough strength to stay awake. The darkness fully engulfed me.
