Felicity Smoak stood paralyzed under the pelting of the cold strokes of water. Sorrow stroked her bare back in the form of the sprinkles of a shower. She was numb. From the outside, her body ached and pleaded for warmth. From the inside, Felicity felt as if someone was raking over her fresh wounds. It was a feeling she was trying to get used to. Like a thousand needles pricking you inwardly at the same time. Like a bruise, internally bleeding but feeling as smooth as flawless skin from the top.

A voice blazed in her ears. Louder than sirens, wailing in her eardrums, beating loudly. It threatened to deafen her. It was so sinister and so clear. Star City Mayor, Oliver Queen, uncovered as the Green Arrow, found dead. She could hear the laughter of a child from the outside. It would usually be the source of joy for most new mothers.
But Felicity Smoak. She kept her eyes shut close with pain and every cry, every breath of the newborn child would cause her this undefinable agony. She pulled her lids in tighter, conflicting more pain for her puffed, and continuously tear-sheddng eyes. Felicity gasped as she heard little thumps on the door and heard the voice of a man call to the baby, "Tommy, get back here."
Tommy. Oh God, Tommy. Oliver.
Cold water entered her mouth and only then did she realize how icy the water was.

"Ol-iv-er," she said, her tongue numb. Tears escaped her eyes because of the iciness of the ice cube. "I was MIT class of '09, not ice-block taster!" she stuck her tongue out, trying to warm the frost off. 'I don't even know if there's even such as thing as ice-block tester," she babbled on.

Oliver looked at how Felicity's pupils had enlarged and her face had gone red because of the frost in her wine. He simply laughed. "Well you lost the bet. I told you I had a higher alcoholic tolerance that you but you disagreed. Yet you were still the one singing random love songs for me in front of an entire pub." he laughed with amusement in his eyes. She shook her head, still with her cold tongue out, but with her eyes filled with adorable innocence. "I'm never drinking again. And this bet's stupid. Who waits for an ice cube to melt in their mouth as a dare?""It was your idea, Felicity."

"My-tongue's-cold-Oliv—" Felicity was saying as warm lips collided cautiously against her and for a moment, she was just bewildered. Oliver's mouth surrounded her tongue and suddenly, it felt as if all the frostbite from the ice had washed out and her entire body was engulfed by warmth. She closed her eyes while Oliver tasted her lips that gave the light taste of vanilla and wine. Felicity let him maneuver with her hands over the hard edge of the table and the moment was cut short as he reluctantly pulled away.

"I thought that'd warm you," he smiled sheepishly as a light seemed to glow in his crystal eyes.

Felicity's body collapsed on the floor of the titles of her pale bathroom. Tears streamed down her face uncontrollably. She wrung her fingers through her wet hair and pulled at it to cause her pain. Any type of pain. Anything would be better than the pain that Oliver Queen was causing her right now. Her lips were frozen but Oliver wasn't here to warm her. She was frozen, but he wasn't here to soothe her. Felicity touched her salty lips and retraced where Oliver's lips once used to be.

"Oliver," she wailed against the thunder of the water against the tiles. Felicity put her palms on either sides of her to touch the walls, as if she could push them away. As if she was entrapped in a box which separated her from the man she loved. The boy she'd fallen in love with. The father of her son. "Where are you? You promised to never leave," she screamed at the top of her lungs with a steady streams of tears washing her wounds. Felicity Smoak uncontrollably shook with the sobs that altered her voice into a heartbreaking shatter.
