"This is outrageous, Dumbledore!" Minerva McGonagall exclaimed, the other teachers nodding and murmuring in agreement. After everyone had headed back into their dorms, Dumbledore requested a meeting with all the seventh year teachers, voicing his thought about putting Valerie Creswell and James Potter together. While he thought it was a good idea, other teacher thought the opposite. "Putting Creswell and Potter together is dangerous. I will not go through with this."
"Think about what we can accomplish here, Minerva." Dumbledore responded calmly, a small smile on his lips. "The Potter's and the Creswell's have been fighting for more than centuries. I believe Mr. Potter and Ms. Creswell have the power to end their family feud and have a better future together."
"We must not meddle into their personal family issues, Albus." Horace Slughorn added. "The ministry has tried for over centuries to stop their fighting and it simply can't be done. I'm afraid it's something that will never be stopped and will forever go on."
"They have different views on blood purity. It's something that cannot be changed." The teachers nodded along in agreement once more, knowing that there was no change in the belief of blood purity. It was something that was implanted in kids at home, already carrying their beliefs once they came to Hogwarts. Changing their beliefs would be hard. "This is also the Creswell's we are talking about. They, like the Malfoy's and the Black's, are pure blood supremacists. It's simply impossible to end their feud." Dumbledore wasn't having any of it though. His mind was set on ending the feud once and for all.
"Potter and Creswell are to be seated together in every class they have together, which I believe is quite a few." With that being said, Professor Dumbledore walked out, not minding the murmurs of the rest of the teachers who stayed behind to discuss the subject.

"So how's the wedding coming along, Val?" Lyra Bonham, one of Valerie's friends, questioned as they got ready for bed. Valerie let out a sigh of irritation at the question, not in the mood to talk about a stupid wedding that wouldn't take place until next year. Valerie had enough wedding talk with her mother and Walburga and the last thing she wanted to talk about at Hogwarts, a place where she can escape the clutches of her family, was about a wedding that was meant to keep her family bloodline pure. "That bad?"
"It's driving me insane." Valerie admitted with a scowl on her face as she grabbed the hairbrush from the desk next to her. "I don't want a big wedding, I don't want a soft shade of pink for the bouquet, I don't want to choose between carnations or Mini Calla Lilies. I don't want to have the best dress, or shoes, or makeup. I honestly don't see the point in getting married if I don't love the person." Valerie pulled on her hair with each word she let out of her mouth, taking a deep breath when she finished rambling out her anger and frustration. Lyra looked at her in surprise, never seeing her friend burst out and ramble out in anger unless it was about Potter or someone who she highly disliked.
"Suck it up, sweetie. It's for blood purity. We don't want to mix our blood with any filthy half-blood, muggle, or blood traitor. My, wouldn't that be a disgrace." Megaera Pollmere said in disdain as she walked into the dormitory she shared with Lyra and Valerie. Megaera Pollmere was a blood purist, much like all of the Slytherin house. She shared the same views just like the rest of the Slytherins did, not to mention that her parent's were huge blood supremacists, although they were nowhere near as wealthy and powerful like the Black's, Malfoy's, or Creswell's.
Valerie scowled upon Megaera's words, sending the blonde a deadly glare. Valerie hated how no one understood her. The only person that did had ran away, and although Valerie was being selfish, she wished he'd stay for her and wait just one more year. They could've gotten married and they could've ran away together and eventually go their separate ways. Valerie didn't harbor any romantic feelings for Sirius, but he was the only sane person who understood her. He understood the wrongdoings of the family and how blood status wasn't everything. Sirius was lucky to have someone that supported him and welcomed him with open arms. He was lucky to runaway and not care about being disowned. Valerie was different. She didn't have anyone to run too if she were disowned, and the thought of being disowned alone made her feel terrified.
"Let's not forget, you're getting married to Regulus Black!" Megaera exclaimed, earning a hush from Portia Yaxely, who happened to be under the covers and trying asleep. "Oi, shut it, Yaxely!" Valerie set her brush back down, a frown on her lips.
"What's the point of marriage if it's not out of love?" Valerie questioned, looking down at her hands. Lyra sent her a sympathetic smile while Megaera rolled her eyes.
"Don't think about it too much, love. You still have a year before the big day awaits. Goodnight, Val." Valerie muttered a goodnight back to Lyra, purposely forgetting to say goodnight to Megaera. It was childish of her, but she couldn't help it. Megaera was no help and she wasn't being the least considerate. Valerie made herself comfortable in her bed, her body instantly relaxing once her body hit the mattress.

Valerie made her way down the hall earlier the next morning with Megaera and Portia. She had zoned out on Megaera's and Portia's arguing long ago, not having the least interest in whose shagging who, or whose done what so far. It was ridiculous seeing as it was their first official day back at Hogwarts and rumors were spreading around like wildfire. Although the most talked was still Valerie, and said girl was beginning to loathe it. Sitting down at the Slytherin table, Valerie began to fill her plate up with breakfast, her stomach grumbling upon the sight of the delicious food in front of her. Portia sat across from her and was already digging in on the food while Megaera looked at her distastefully, grabbing small rations of the food.
"Do you happen to know where your cousin is this morning?" Megaera questioned. Valerie looked over towards the Gryffindor, her eyes instantly locking with none other than James Potter. Valerie mentally cursed herself, forcing a sneer on her lips as she turned to look at Sirius who sat beside him, talking animatedly. Her gaze moved back towards James to find that he hadn't looked away. A blush settled among Valerie's cheeks, catching Megaera's attention. "Valerie? Valerie! For Merlin's sake, Creswell!"
"I beg your pardon?" Valerie questioned, abruptly disconnecting her gaze with James to look at an angered Megaera. Portia had stopped eating, turning to look at the fuming Megaera that sat diagonally from her. Megaera turned around, shaking her head when she spotted none other than Potter staring back at their table.
"Why are you making googly eyes at Potter, Valerie?" Megaera questioned with a huff. "Did I miss something? Are you two secretly snogging each other?"
"Merlin, no!" Valerie responded in horror, although she couldn't help the blush that rose in her cheeks, making the blush much more prominent. "Nothing of sorts, Megaera."
"I wouldn't blame her, though." Portia began. "He's not a sight for sore eyes." Portia finished with a casual shrug of her shoulders. Valerie and Megaera looked at her for a few seconds, earning another shrug.
"Please, if anything, he's an arrogant toerag. A blood-traitor at that." Megaera scoffed, taking small, slow sips from the goblet. Valerie frowned in disapproval, sighing quietly under her breath and continued to eat her breakfast. "Let's not also forget that he is your enemy. Sworn enemy." Megaera finished, putting emphasis on sworn.
"Sworn enemy?" Lyra questioned, scooting Megaera over much to the blonde's displeasure, and sat down across from Valerie. "Are we talking about Potter again?" Valerie shook her head in denial, while Megaera answered yes firmly.
"The two were making eyes at each other not too long ago." Lyra looked at Valerie with a raised eyebrow in question, turning her head over her shoulder to look over at the Gryffindor. Lyra caught sight of James, her eyebrows furrowing in confusion as she turned to look back at Valerie.
"He sure seems to be looking over here quite often." Lyra commented with a nod of her head. "Anyways, I managed to get your schedules before hand." She held up the three sheets of paper, handing them over to the three girls. Megaera was the first to groan at the sight of her schedule, disliking the fact that she had some classes with the Gryffindors. Valerie sighed upon her noticing her schedule, noticing that she did have most of her classes with the Gryffindor's which seemed unusual. Finishing up her food, Valerie stood up, bidding the three girls goodbye and began to make her way towards her first class, preparing herself for the surely eventful day ahead.
