Camp Counselor (5SOS Cake) *DISCONTINUED*

Prologue

"No, you're homosexuality isn't going to work in our family, so I'm sending you to a Christian camp to set you straight, Calum... literally," my mother said loudly. I didn't appreciate the joke at the end considering my mom was practically disowning me for my sexuality.

"I guess I don't have a choice, my only parent left doesn't love me anymore for something I can't control," I huffed as I slammed my suitcase shut.

"Honey, I still love you, but this choice you made is tearing our fami-," she started.

"No," I interrupted, "just let me leave. Please," I said as I ran out of the house and into the camp bus.

I sat in a two-seater alone in the back of the bus as I heard a voice shout from the front of the bus.

"Hello, I'm Aunt Danielle and I'm going to be the head counselor of the Penguins!" the lady said. Aunt Danielle? Why aunt? What are the Penguins?

"For those of you that are new, we call our counselors aunt and uncle, which quite honestly I still don't understand, and I've been going to this camp since I was 7," she continued, "And as for the Penguins, the Penguins are the age group that you guys are in. For each age group, we have a corresponding animal. 6 - 9 year olds are the Alpacas, 10 - 11 year olds are the Wolves, 12 - 13 are the Turtles, and 14 - 16 year olds are the Penguins."

Why does everything have to be so complicated? I already don't like this camp. I pressed my forehead against the window and carelessly blew hot air and drew smiley faces in the foggy glass.

Eventually the bus came to a slow stop and we arrived at the camp. There was a giant golf cart with about 5 rows of seats, each row holding at most 3 people.

"Welcome to Camp Cloudwave, Penguins!" Aunt Danielle shouted as I stepped out of the bus and stared at the place I would be staying at for a whole month, in hopes of turning me straight.
