CHAPTER TWO

Aaron's POV

Her voice is the best I have ever heard, it was beautiful just like her face, she has the brownest eyes I have ever seen in my life, I have to find out who she is. I turned to Nate who had been quiet all this while  "Nate do you know that girl?' I asked him

"Yeah, why?" He replied facing me  "Nothing just want to know" I said "She's Erika Williams, she's also in last year of high school and friends with Jenny Raines and Xavier Thorne"

Oh she was in the same year with me? then how come I don't know her? Well now that's going to  change, Her name fits her, Erika, she's dark- haired, with it just reaching her shoulders ,her hair makes me feel as if blond girls are dumb.

"Dude you zoning out, what's up with you?" I heard Nate say beside me, I shook my head responding to his question. "You need to relax, final game is coming up bro, do what you have to do but chill out, don't stress it too much" I intend on doing that but first I have to find out who Erika Williams is, I need her to cheer me on in finals. This is going to be my priority.

I moved my sock aside to see the state of the injury, all the while I spoke to Erika I forgot all about it. The sight of the tear was painful and scary, it was swollen, stiff and bruised.

"Don't forget to sleep with your head elevated 20-30cm with a solid pillow and take your antacids" I heard Nurse Amy say to Erika ten minutes later as she came out of the office.

"Johnson come in" I was trying to talk to Erika but she moved so fast before I could say anything, it was like she was been chased, I wondered why she acted like that. It was strange.

"AJ let's go" I stood up and tried to walk and grimaced in pain, my left leg was wobbly, it gave out making me stubble to the white tiles in the clinic, Nate assisted me before I could fall face flat. This is not looking good, I need to be able to prepare for finals. I leaned on Nate to help me walk to the Nurse office which was painted with yellow on one side and the other side white, it contained a stretcher in the corner, and a desk with a high leather chair.

"How did you sprain your ankle?" Nurse Amy questioned. "I was trying to tackle the ball from John during practice and his boot hit my ankle"

"Let's take a look" she pulled off my socks gently so that it wouldn't hurt but it still did.

She removed my socks, my ankle was really swollen. She felt the sides of my ankle "Your bone shifted, that's why it's swelling and bruised. You will need to be on bed rest for the next three days for the swelling to go down with the help of ice". As she spoke all I could think of was me been on bed rest for the next three days, I'm not going to survive that, that is pure torture not even now that I want to get to know Erika. She went to a cupboard and brought out a medicine bottle and gave me "What is this?" I asked her looking at the bottle with disdain I hated tablets, wouldn't even take them whenever I fell sick, they taste that bad.

"Its Advil, they are painkillers and it will help reduce the swelling, it should be taken every four to six hours since it's for pain and for the icing, you ice it for ten to twenty minutes every two hours for the next seventy-two hours" before I could respond, Nate asked "Nurse Amy, does he really have to do all that? we have final games coming up in a few months, he needs all the practice he can get" Nate was right. "Yes Nurse Amy I have to practice".

"If you want to practice and want to go to finals that bad you have to do what I say and besides you wouldn't be going to any football pitch for the next three weeks" I groaned in pain and anger, why is all this happening now? Just then Coach Gavin arrived and took Nurse Amy aside, I guess to know the extent of my injury. It hurts to know that I wouldn't be playing for the next three weeks. Football is my get away to freedom, my sanity, my passion. I waited till she was done talking to coach. "Will I be on bed rest for the next three weeks?" I asked with dread in my voice.
