Squid's POV
I wake up before Stampy and look at my watch. It's about 7am, so he should be awake naturally soon anyway. I decide not to disturb him.
I press my lips to his cheek and sigh softly. I can't help but feel like something's going to go wrong. We've had such an amazing two months, and frankly I don't want them to end. We have Citrus, we have family, we have each other. That's all we need to be happy, but something in my gut is warning me that somethings going to change. I try to shove the thought out of my mind best as I can.
I take Stampys hand in mine and softly run my fingers over the faded scars on his wrist. They were just a memory now. A reminder of what we'd gone through together, and a reminder of how we got through it.
My eyes flicker back up to his and he opens his eyes.
"Morning," he says with a smile.
"Morning." I peck him on the lips. He giggles. I swear he's still a child. We don't speak for the next few minutes, just enjoying the silence and listening to the quiet sound of our breathing.
"Do you know what we're going to do today?" Stampy asked me after a while. I shrug.
"I plan to just stay here and do nothing. Have a quiet day for onc-"
"RISE AND SHINE!"
The door to our bedroom bursts open and Sqaishey comes running in, followed by an equally as excited Netty. We groan in unison.
"Really?"
"Get up, we've got an awesome day planned!"
I groan louder.
Sqaishey whips the blanket off us and we hurry to cover our boxers.
"GET UP!"
"Okay okay, just give us the blanket again!"
*~.~*
I begin to get dressed when Stampy walks out of the room to, in turn, have his own shower. Netty and Sqaishey had gone to get Amy a few minutes ago and left us to finish waking up and get changed. I had a quick shower and now I was trying to find suitable clothes to wear. The girls refused to tell us where we were going, so I settled for a hoodie and jeans.
Just as I'm pulling on my socks, Stampys phone rings. I debate leaving it, but then realise I could tell whoever it is to call back in person. I pick it up and answer the call.
"Hello?"
There's static on the other side, then a voice.
"Joe? It's me? Your brother?"
"Excuse me?"
"Our mother, Latisha, that woman, lied. I know she's in prison now, I know what she said to you, but I'm ali-"
"I'm sorry mate, but I think you've got the wrong number."
"No, no this is Joseph Garett's phone! She swore this was your number! I know this is my brother!"
My blood runs cold. Stampy had a brother? He can't have, this guy was obviously drunk.
"Look, I don't know what you're talking about. I don't have a brother and I never have."
"Please! Listen to m-"
I hang up the phone.
What was that? Some prank caller, probably. To make sure he doesn't call back, I block the number and put the phone back where it was.
