Tanya

I sat outside his hospital room biting my nails to their beds. I didn't realise I still did this. I suppose bad habits always stay with us. Jeanine came out of the hospital room looking rather exasperated and flustered and I couldn't stop myself from going into his hospital room myself. I sat on the chair by his side. He looked at me and rolled his eyes.

"Look, I know you probably don't want to tell me about Jeanine but-"

"It was all a fake." Sherlock interrupted.

"What?" He took a breath but it soon contorted into a painful expression. I was on my feet and by his side in three seconds as I looked at him worriedly.

"I'm fine." He spoke through gritted teeth. He put his hand out to a machine controlling the morphine and increased it. Immediately, he sighed in relief. I sat back down on my chair and looked at him, waiting for an answer. "I didn't actually love her. And the proposal wasn't real either. It was all just a way for me to get into Magnessun's office."

I managed to mouth an 'oh' before staring at the ground.

"You've always been on my mind, Tanya. Never once have you left. I have feelings for you that I have for no one else. You belong to me. You. Are. Mine." I raised my eyes slightly and I could see tears running down his face. Wiping them away, I stood up.

"It's the painkillers. You're delirious and you don't know what you're saying." Kissing his forehead, I turned to go.

"Tanya?"

"Hm?"

"Do me one more favour."

I stood by Mary's car which was parked in front of Tesco. Mary returned a few minutes later but seeing me, she dropped her bags and looked ready to run. "Hold it." I commanded in a cold voice. She had one leg stuck out, ready to run. "You know, stress isn't good for the baby. Let me help you out." Picking the bags up, I put them in the boot of the car before pulling Mary by the elbow into the car. I could feel her resisting.

"Let go." She muttered.

"Wouldn't want to make a commotion here now would we?" I gestured at the busy London road and held the passenger door open for her. After closing her door, I got into the driver's seat myself.

"Where's are we going?" She asked nervously.

"To where this all began."

After driving for ten minutes, I spotted Sherlock  sitting on a bench eating a packet of crisps and made my way to him with Mary. He looked weak and pale from the blood loss but I knew he wanted to do this. There wasn't a soul to be seen for miles and this would be a perfect place to confront Mary.

"Mary Morstan." Sherlock stated as he wiped his hands with a napkin. "Stillborn in October 1972. Her grave is just in the graveyard behind us." Sherlock gestured to a vague point behind him. "That would explain why you don't talk about your friends or family much. You don't have any."

"It did take you long, I must admit." Mary retorted. Sherlock only nodded at that.

"Sherlock, we're not bloody well here for a picnic are we? Get on with it." I grumbled.

"Let's get this clear shall we? Magnussen knows something about you so you were going to kill him. But when Tanya and I got there, you couldn't kill him in front of us or we'd be a witnesses. So you temporarily disabled me and ran off. Correct so far?" Mary nodded. "The only part that doesn't make sense is why you didn't kill me or Tanya." Mary laughed and I rolled my eyes.

"Mary and I had an agreement. During my time in New York, I found out about Mary's past and she knew about mine. So we had a pact that neither one of us would say a word to anyone else." I paused. "If only I knew she would have killed one of us."

"Oh please. I wasn't actually going to kill either of you. Merely distract you for a while." Mary blubbered as she crossed her arms. "But I'm begging you now. Please, don't tell John." Sighing, I looked to Sherlock.

"Sorry Mary." Sherlock had a genuine apologetic expression when he said this. "But some things are best put out in the open than brushed under the rug." John emerged from behind a parked van as he crossed over to us. I could see this new information was an overload on him as he avoided Mary's gaze entirely.

"Come Tanya." Sherlock called. "Let's leave them to discuss this alone." Following him, we sat in the car in silence until I decided to speak up.

"When did you plan to tell me that you knew about Mary's past?"

"I think the same question goes for you."

"I didn't plan on telling you ever. What about you?" I asked.

"I didn't plan on telling you ever either." The silence continued to settle in. "Do you remember what I said in the hospital?" Sherlock spoke quietly.

Of course I remembered. How couldn't I?

"Uh well you said a lot of things so I'm not entirely sure what you're talking about." I gulped nervously as I felt his gaze on me as he deduced me.

"You're lying. You remember exactly what I said." I didn't want to reply so I looked out of my window. A moment later, a hand slipped into mine. Looking down at my lap, I saw Sherlock's fingers intertwined in mine.

"Remember, I told you that you were mine."
