Sherlock

I was glad I had followed Tanya to the warehouse otherwise I might not have been able to see her sitting in front of me alive. She lay on the sofa covered in a throw with a book on her heaving chest. I smiled and pulled the book away placing it on the table beside her. She looked peaceful in her sleep. I wondered what being at complete peace must feel like seeing as I had never experienced it. Before leaving the room, I glanced at her again and craved her warmth near me. I frowned. How could I feel warm without waking her up. Slowly, careful not to move her, I slipped in beside her but I was close to the edge. Not wanting to fall off, I slipped my arms around her waist and adjusted myself so I fit perfectly around her. I lay my chin on her head and closed my eyes. This was what peace felt like.

~~~
My eyes shot open to the sound of murmuring above me. I kept one eye shut but looked up to find John looming over me. His expression was puzzled. I turned back around to find Tanya still nuzzled close to me.
"Why are you-" John began to speak out loud but I gestured to him to be quieter. I got up from the sofa and walked to the kitchen feeling John on my tail. "Why were you sleeping with Tanya?" he whispered.
"I was cold. The blanket layer around Tanya would have trapped warm air so meaning that she would have been warmer."
"You didn't answer my question Sherlock. I mean, you have a bloody well good bed of your own. So why sleep with Tanya?"
"I did alright? It doesn't really matter." I peered into my microscope even though there was nothing to see.
"The thing is mate, it does matter. People don't just sleep with other people for no reason. It's because they feel some kind of attraction to each other. Affection. That's what it is. You like that girl and you're afraid to tell 'er." This bothered me.
"Oh, please do say that a little louder so the neighbours can hear that as well." Giving a fake smile, I turned towards the kettle. John huffed loudly in defeat. He came close and spoke in a hushed voice.
"Look Sherlock, it's up to you what you tell her or don't tell her but don't tell complain when it's too late." With that, he walked off. He was right though unfortunately. Problem was, I didn't even know if I liked her or not. Denying my affection for her, I made myself my tea and started to play my violin.
~~~

"Turned his GPS on and we're all set for results." Tanya swiveled her chair around to face me, beaming with pride. At around 11:43, Tanya realised that she could link one of her texts back to his phone and be able to turn on his GPS and track him on her computer. Her grand plan was to confront Moriarty for the truth of her birth parents. I didn't want to tell her the potential flaws in her plan and so, left her be. I studied her face and realised that she wasn't as stunning as I thought she initially looked. Her face still had craters from her teenage spots, the bone in her nose stood out a little at the top and her bottom lip was bigger than her top. But all in all, she was perfect in her personality and for standing out. She may not have been perfect but she definitely was a beautiful person. I almost cringed at this squishy, human thought. Before she could ask why I was staring, a beeping began from her computer.

"Would you shut that alarm up please?" John yelled from the other side of the room. I bounded over to Tanya and peered over her shoulder. I pointed a finger at the point flashing on the map.

"Tower of London." Almost as soon as Tanya had said that, my phone buzzed. Irritated, I picked it up. Lestrade's panicked voice sounded from the other side. As he continued to speak, I nodded and without saying anything, put down.

"Tanya, John. Time to go. There's been a break in at the Tower."

~~~
He came out of the Tower, hands tied behind his back with a smirk glued to his face. The police escorted him down to the parked police cars but he stopped before Tanya. Trying to avoid his glare, she looked down to the ground. I thought Moriarty would speak harshly to her but his next few words were unexpected. "Love, this is all going to clear up soon and me, you and your mum are going to live a happy life together afterwards." He kissed her forehead before he got steered away from her. Tanya didn't look up whilst he got driven away. I saw a tear drop fall to the ground and I thought it best to leave her alone. Approaching Lestrade, I was about to open my mouth to say something when he interrupted.
"It wasn't just the Tower." He licks his lips quickly before continuing. "Bank of England and Pentonville."
"Oh bloody hell. How did one man break into all three places at once? Crikey, he must be one hell of a genius criminal." At this, Tanya began to sob probably unable to handle the information. My glare at John hardened as I walked to him. I patted his back and spoke into his ear.
"Well done you idiot. Take her home and I'll meet you there." John nodded and put a reassuring arm around Tanya. She pushed it off, wiped away her tears and looked Lestrade in the eye.
"I suppose there'll be a court case." Lestrade nodded. "I want to be there."
