chapter 4

Jolin's Pov

I'm so excited, my best friend Annalynn and her brother Dylan are coming to live with Levi! I get my hunting buddy back. I'm letting Alvin and Big Steve use my truck to get them and they won't get here until late at night so I'll get to see them tomorrow. I see this new kid, Caleb walking around; staring at the road. I walk up to him and say "What are you looking at Caleb and why are you standing here?" He replied "I'm waiting for them to get here." I got confused and asked "Why?" He replied "I want to meet Levi's niece and nephew." 

When he said that something in his voice made me think that he wanted to seriously meet her and Dylan. I replied "Well they aren't coming till late at night so go to bed and she'll be here tonight." I hear a car horn and I say "Or not" Anna stood up and stretched. Caleb asked me "is she ok?" I reply "Yea she's finr she's just tired and she needs to go to bed." 

She goes to talk to Levi and comes out while looking down like she usually does when she's thinking and the kltuz she is walks right into Caleb. Then they start talking about things, then Amie gets called to help unload her horses and her 4-wheeler from my truck. Caleb gets called into Levi's office, he then comes back out and walks to Amie and helps her unload her horses. After that I see Caleb extend his arm to Amie; she walks off with him and I see how happy she is and that makes me happy for her. 

The Next Day

Levi wants us at the house early, so we can Amie and Dylan. Amie's up and she runs past me, I figure she'll say hi later. Levi's talking to her about her and Caleb and he lets her date him, she's running upstairs and comes running down the stairs, kisses Levi, says hi to Alvin and jumps into my arms with a big hug. I hug her with as much strength, I whispered in her ear, "I missed you and I love you" She smiles and whispers "I love you and missed you too." She runs outside and I say "She's such a free spirit and so care free." Levi says "she better be careful, Merlin's back." We all go pale.

Merlin is Lvi's enemy and one of his people's son has this slight obsession with Amie which is not good because we want her to stay here with us. Caleb will be heartbroken if she gets taken and Levi, Esther, John and I will be pissed as all hell. Speaking of Esther I wonder where she is and how she's doing.

Esther's Pov

I'm so excited that Anna and Dylan are here! Anna is my best friend and she is the only one who keeps me from going insane when it comes to her uncle. I hear someone knock on my door and John answers the door, he screams "Oh my god Amie!" I run downstairs and see John hugging her. I say to John "Hey it's my turn!" I give Anna the biggest hug ever since she is my best friend. She says "Hi guys I missed you guys, Esther I have so much to tell you." So we go outside and talk the old days.

She told me that she might be going on a date with Caleb, I'm so happy for her. Then she says something that should be brought up to Levi, Amie says "I'm getting the feeling that I'm being followed." I ask her "Why? Did you tell someone?" Anna replies "I feel like I'm being everywhere I go. Yes I told Caleb and Uncle Levi." What Levi's not doing anything about this? This is messed up. Amie tells me she has to leave, she hugs and John and she leaves. John asks me "Is she ok?" I reply worried "No, she's not and she's not going to be." 

I grab my jacket and I walk out of the house. I see Anna and she's running towards the house from somebody. I can't tell who it is but it looks like Merlin. I run to Levi's house and knock on the door, Levi opens the door and I tell him "Anna's being kidnapped!" Levi grabs his hat and runs after the truck that has his daughter. He can see Anna put her hand on the window, tears rolling down her face as well as mine and Levi's and she is being beaten. 

Levi's furious and so am I, but Levi says "Who is going to tell Jolin and Caleb, Jolin's gonna be pissed and Caleb's gonna be heartbroken." I reply "I'll tell Jolin and you tell Caleb." He answers "Alright." 

Caleb's Pov

I'm shocked Amie's not here and Alvin told me to go to Levi's office and that he wants to talk to me. I go to his office and he says "Last night Esther and I saw Annalynn get taken in a car probably owned by Merlin and he left you a note and here it is." Levi gave me the note...I can't hold in my tears anymore and I start to cry. My love, she's gone! I read the note and it says...

Caleb,

If you want your girlfriend back, come to Ohio and find her and to be forewarned she might be raped."

I crumple the note and threw it at Levi, not on purpose, I showed it to him and Jolin, who looks like he has been crying. They are furious and they tell me "Caleb get your gun...we're getting Anna back."

Authors Note

Jolin- a mennonite who works for Levi and Anna's best friend. He can drive and he is a trained fighter so you don't want to mess with him especially when it has to do with Amie.
