"I've got big news! I'm going to be one of Nate's best men!"
"Really? What happened?"
"Apparently, Peter's going to Bahamas to sort some of the wedding and the company stuff our, and he won't be attending the wedding, so the chose me"
"Harry, is this some kind of joke?"
"Of course not, I'm serious"
"Why is Peter doing some wedding stuff in Bahamas?"
"They're getting married there. But the important thing is that you have to come to the wedding with me"
"I already told Leigh and Nate that I won't be going like two months ago"
"You have to come, I don't want to be alone there. And if I don't go, they'll have to look for another best men, which will drive them crazy"
"There's just a week left until the wedding, why have they told you now?"
"I don't know, I guess I was their last option" he shrugged his shoulders "But who cares, we are going to have so much fun"
"I just don't feel like going. Even if I went, who would I be sat with? I don't know anyone there"
"With me. Everyone can take a date with them, so you will be my date. We'll be sat with Maddie, Alan, and some of their other friends"
"I'm not going to be your date, because I'm not even going to that wedding"
"Then ask Maddie to be your date. I actually think she's just texted you" he said showing me my phone.

Hey! Harry just told me you're coming to Leigh's wedding, hope it's true hahaha
To: Maddie.
Yeah ! I'm not really sure yet , but we might see each other there !

If you don't go, I'll go to your house and drag your pale ass there, it's been a long time since we last went to a wedding together!

I guess I'll have t go then ! Haha

Truth is even though we'd said we'd stay in touch, we hadn't talked until that day. It's not that I didn't want to talk to her, it's just that I fel a bit awkward talking to my ex girlfriend knowing she'd get married soon. She hadn't tried to talk to me either, anyways. I guess she was just busy with all the wedding shit. I had been thinking about her non stop in the previous weeks, and it had been driving me crazy. I just wanted to talk to her, to apologise, to tell her how I felt. I just wanted to get my Maddie back or at least get to know the 26-year-old Maddie. But what was I supposed to do? Tell her I didn't think I was over her after three years? Interrupt her wedding? Get advantage of Leigh's wedding to try and kiss her and see if she still felt something for me? It all seemed stupid. None of that would change the situation. If she truly loved Peter, she'd marry him anyways. I didn't have anything to do with that decision.
We hadn't been to a wedding together in years, so going to Leigh's would probably be fun. I still remembered the first one we went to together. It was he sister Jade's and his boyfriend Chris.
