//November 30, 2031. Morix Law Offices, 2:45 PM//
It was a while before Thomas, Sophie, Kyo, Chrysalis, and Cotoli got back. "You guys are back!" I exclaimed as they walked in.
"Yup!!" Sophie grinned, spinning in a circle while jumping happily.
I ran past her and swept Chrysalis into a hug. "Chrysalis..." I murmured into her hair. "You're not hurt or anything?"
Chrysalis shook her head. "Nope! Our encounter with a mad serial killer went shockingly well," she smiled. "But you're sweet for worrying about me."
"What? Am I not supposed to worry about my little sister?" I asked, tilting my head with a gentle grin.
"You two sure are strange siblings," Lily cut in. "I can't tell you how many times Roberto and I fought about my well being, and then you two are fine with it all."
"We might be strange, but we're cool for being strange," Chrysalis beamed, flicking on the side of her glasses in an attempt to show... What is the word for it..? Swagger. I think.
"Yeah," I agreed.
"I bet that there are people who envy you," Niamh said, looking away silently.
"Such as Victoria. I know," I told her, suddenly softening.
"Wait... Who's Victoria?" Thomas asked, glancing at the rest of us in confusion.
"Victoria is an attorney who works here. She's been flipping back and forth from being in the United States and Germany, where her family lives. I bet that she'll be back here soon," I explained.
"Do you know how she's been doing over there, Pieter?" Cotoli asked me, his hands in his pockets.
"I hear that the German legal system has been looking for attorneys who are good but not egotistical about it like her brothers are, so she's been having to travel from here to there a lot," Cotoli answered. "And speaking of romantic relationships..."
"I'm already out here."
Polly walked in, her arms crossed. "What is it? You here to ask me out on a date or something?" she questioned.
"No..." Cotoli suddenly turned bright red and fished something out of his pocket. It was a small box with a velvet material covering the outside. He allowed himself to drop to a knee, blushing shyly. "Polly... I... Um... The years that we've been together have been the best of my life, so... I was wondering..."
"What?" Polly questioned, her eyes going wide with something that was either worry or excitement. I couldn't really tell because I only have half the sight as a normal person, so...
Cotoli opened the box to show a velvety inside, but what shocked me the most was a dazzling ring with a diamond in the center and gold metal swirling around it. "Will you marry me?" he asked, his eyes shining in hope and determination.
Polly was taken aback by his question, beginning to blush madly. "O-of course I will...!" she whispered. I could have sworn that she started tearing up as Cotoli rose to his feet and wrapped his arms around her body. They looked so cute together...
Wait.
This means that Polly is going to be my sister in law.
Here's hoping that she doesn't get loud and bossy...
"I still don't understand who Victoria is-" Thomas tried to begin, although Chrysalis jabbed an elbow into his gut, making him groan in pain and go quiet as he rubbed his abdomen with anger in his glare.
"When's the wedding?! Can I be the flower girl?! Or are you giving that job to Anton because we know it would make him really happy?!" Chrysalis demanded. She began prattling on with about five thousand one hundred and eleven more questions, but I couldn't understand them all. How fast can she talk...?!
"March, I don't know, depends on two," Cotoli replied. "I know that March seems a little soon, but... I've been planning this for six months and I already made the invitations on my computer, and they say March..."
"March is perfect," Polly smiled, hugging him. She stood on her toes so that she could kiss him. Cotoli went red instantly, sinking into his hoodie to hide how red he was. He always was the type to blush easily, and that still applied to now, especially since he had proposed to his girlfri-erm, fiance.
"Hey guys!! Guess what?!"
The door was flung open by Sora. Ghastly walked in not far behind her. Sora was bouncing more than a ball, grinning like a maniac. "Ghastly and I are getting married!!" Sora smiling, continuing to jump like a toddler.
"Y-you proposed the same day I did?!" Cotoli squeaked to Ghastly.
"Uh... Sorry, Cotoli..." Ghastly said awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck nervously. "I didn't mean to steal your thunder. I didn't even realize that you were proposing today..."
My phone went off, so I pulled it out and saw that Victoria was trying to video chat. I accepted her request immediately.
Victoria's face, framed with gray hair, appeared shortly after. She smiled at me widely. "I'm going to be coming home soon! My trip to Germany is ending early!" she smiled.
I beamed. "You won't have to leave anymore?!" I asked.
Victoria shook her head. "Not as far as I know," she answered, her smile only getting wider with the second.
"We go into the day and think it'll be normal, but not only did we lock away a serial killer, but three ships are becoming canon!!" Chrysalis exclaimed, appearing over my shoulder. "This is the best day ever!!"
"What is she talking about?" Victoria questioned, raising an eyebrow.
"The same things as always. Oh, and my siblings are getting married," I answered.
"That's great!" Victoria smiled. "Well, I'm about to get on the plane, so I'll be back soon! See you guys tomorrow!"
Victoria hung up her call, leaving me sighing dreamily. "She's great..." I whispered. Victoria always got me in a daze like that, whether she tried or not.
"You sound just like Anton," Chrysalis commented.
"Where is Anton anyways?" Polly questioned.
I'm pretty sure that all of our minds screamed the exact same word at that moment, but I won't say it because I don't think that Cotoli wants Chrysalis to hear such dirty language.
