1. I highly recommend you start to practice talking and listening to the language of your guest country/province/state some time before you leave. Imagine getting there and not even be able to say a word... Um not funny.
In my case, it wasn't that bad because I started learning English when I was in grade 1 but refreshing your memory never hurt anyone. I also recommend watching movies or tv shoes in the language you're learning. It helps a lot!-Alex
