Chapter 4: Drowning Those Words That Sting

I still can't believe what happened I hope I didn't miss anything whilst re writing this
Here's the fourth chapter:

"so what is your real name?" I look at the ground "I don't remember" I mumble " I thought you heard your name being called out. Well you have to have a name if your coming with me so let's see that name tag" and he leans in for a closer look "hm I'm thinking Tide because the 1 looks like an I and if you ignore the 0 you have the name Tide" looking very proud of himself he stands up,"Wow you're sooooo inventive" I tease even though I'm actually thrilled with my new name. I have to run a little too keep up"so where were you going anyway?" He slows down as to think if he should tell me the truth "To get water provisions"

Then he stops, I look ahead and take in a small breath, we're standing infront of a lake one of the most beautiful scenes I've ever seen even though it's probably not too hard but still, Flint bends down by it and pulls out a flask from a small bag he was carrying.

I walk over when he's done, he stands up and just stares at me making me feel a bit uncomfortable, and out of nowhere a ring of fire roars up around me, I scream from shock, crouching I slowly take my arms away from my head, "why the hell did you do that I shout at him "and why are you wet?" I ask tilting my head, I can see that the scorch marks on the dampened ground "Uhh... Did I miss out on a mini rain storm or something?" He's glaring at he but then looks really smug, "ok what do you know that I don't?" Now he has this really big wolfish grin on his face "What?!" He is really getting on my nerves even more than usual which is quite hard, " i was right, your a water elemental."

"I'm sorry a what?" I say irritability, Flint sighs "a water elemental," I look at him blankly, "you control water, you know? Like I control fire." I'm slowly taking this all in, ok so let's recap;

I don't remember anything before a year ago, I escape and run into a boy who can combust whenever he wants and I just so happen to control water...

"Ok so the last time I checked that wasn't normal" I say sarcastically, Flint chuckles but it turns into another one of his annoying half smiles when I ask "that still doesn't explain why you attacked me" "I didn't "attack" you I was just checking something that turned out to be true" "and what if it wasn't true?" I ask turning myself away from him facing the water "well then it would have been unfortunate"
I humpf and tilt my head up, he walks infront of me but I just turn away "Oh come on, Tide," He tries to get my attention the same way again but I also do the same as before "how about I teach you how to use your powers?" Now I turn to him "Really?!" I say hating the way I sounded so desperate.

He said he'd help teach me how to use my powers but he's just standing there thinking (which would be a first) "well? When do we start?" I ask impatiently.

"You know while your waiting you could have some more of those visions to remember, but then you could forget 'again'" the words jab at me hard. "What's that supposed to mean?" Glaring I start to walk towards him fists clenched. "Well it would be helpful if you could at least try to remem-" the last bit is cut off when he ducks under and grabs the flying fist I send at him "you think I can remember just like that? Have you any idea what I might even see?" my whole body tingles and then a wave of energy flows through me as water from the lake slams into Flint, a bubble of water holds him there.

All the anger drains out of me when I see the fear in his eyes, yeh it probably doesn't help that I'm his opposite, but lower my arms that I didn't even realise I had raised and then let the energy seep away letting the bubble burst dropping a coughing wet Flint onto the floor.

"Oh my God!" I run to him " I, I" didn't want to apologise because he kinda deserved it unless he dies then mabe not as much. "I thought I was going to kill you!" Flint sits up and I put out my hand "Yeh well your weren't the only one," He grumbles but takes my hand and falls hard on the floor again as I let go of my grip on him. "That! Was for being a jerk, and that," I slap his face so hard they I can still see the red hand mark on his cheek "was for dodging the fist that I have you."

"Jeez Tide, I didn't actually mean it I was just trying to trigger your element, I was only pretending" He says rubbing his cheek, "right," I look down feeling my cheeks go red "I new that" Flint snickers then frowns "you really thought that I would turn on you like that?" "What? No-Yes... I mean.. I don't know.. I'm just not sure what to trust yet," I sit down next to Flint and he moves closer, our shoulders touching. "You can always trust me Tide"
