Chapter 8: Confusion

Hey guys! I haven't updated in an age and I am so so sorry T_T buuuuuut I made this chapter extra long so forgiven? I had a lot going on I apologise but I've updated now so here you go chapter 9:

We looked at the city from behind the tree line. I shrank back with mixtures of excitement and fear.

"Oh Tide! I can't believe I forgot I'm such an idiot" Flint cursed to himself, "what?" I ask confused.
"If you go into the city wearing those clothes it will attract attention." I look down at what I'm wearing and finally clock that it would most definitely catch people's eyes. I look back up seeing Flint routing through his backpack, he pulls out a pair of jeans a shirt, some blue light weight trainers and a hoodie. "Here, I know they're guy clothes but it's the best I have" he apologised putting a hand behind his head and laughing awkwardly.

I grin, "it's fine" I accept the clothing and disappear behind a cluster of trees to change.

I zip up the hoody and grin snuggling into its warmth It smells nice I smile wait what? I shake my head and prepare to walk back out when a hand suddenly covers my mouth and drags me back whilst twisting my arm behind me.
"Hello again princess" Anatoli Molatave sneers in my ear. "Remember me?"

Meanwhile back at the small clearing, Flint activates his map and his eyes widen as he sees a group of light grey blinking dots, he then curses as he sees one of the dots is dangerously close, "Tiiiiiide,"
"....." There's no reply and he puts away the map, his head looking up and around "Tide?" He calls with slight concern laced in his voice, again, silence with the eerie absence of my voice.

"Ok Tide I'm walking over," he says as he approaches where I was changing and his cheeks tint red, "shoot, Tide where are you?!" He yells.
"Tide?!" He pulls out the map fumbling with the button in his hurry.

'Tap' I struggle against the agent's hold knowing it was useless. "Let me go!" I seethe threw my gritted teeth, 'tap' Anatoli twists my arm back more and I restrain a sharp gasp, 'tap' "aw sweet cheeks now why would I want to do that? I only just found you." He smirks. 'Tap'

I then realise I have an advantage duh Tide! You can control water. I look around desperately for a water source. Nothing, absolutely nothing, 'tap' seriously where's a river when you need it? I frown 'tap' OK WHAT THE HELL IS BANGING AGAINST MY LEG?! I fume in my mind angrily and look down to see a flask swinging from the agent's side. Huh.. This whole time... I suppress a grin and close my eyes to concentrate, Please be full please be full.

The metal flask starts to shake, I could feel the contents inside start to slosh around hitting the sides of its metal container each time with more force, expanding and contracting pushing and imploding on itself until the lid began to loosen creating a weak point.

I grew tired after using up my energy so much but I kept pushing until the liquid shot out of the flask surprising Anatoli and releasing me of his grip, I dropped to the ground sweeping his feet out from under him and I sped off taking the iced dagger from the flask with me.

I kept running, my legs were growing weary and I don't know why but I was feeling dizzy and out of balance, it also didn't help that my leg still hadn't healed, I swerved around trees and tripped, wait did I just see Flint? I thought before I went tumbling down out of the trees and towards the city.

My roll soon came to a stop and I stood up uneasily, infront of me there were houses that slowly grew into tall ones which I'm sure I recall were called cloud scrapers? No.. I think it was skyscrapers.. Eh. I shrug it of and then remember I was being chased, "oh yeh" why am I so dizzy?! *hic* I feel the ice begin to drip down my hand and I looked at it "has ice always been brown?" I ask outloud, I then lick it and my nose wrinkles up at the taste "yuck bitter, that's some nasty ice," *hic*

I turn around and see Anatoli run out and look from atop the hill, talking into his walkie talkie, I point at him as he sees me, *hic* "your name's too long, *hic* I'm gonna call you Ant.. Or Anny...*hic*" I giggle as he glares at me, then back up arrives, "get her" he barks, they begin their cautious but quick descent.

"Ah!! *hic* Noooo you can't catch *hic* me!!!" I yell running into the streets with my arms stretched out like a plane. The squad of agents reach the bottom of the hill and sprint after me into the maze of homes.

"Brrrrrbrrbrbbrrr!!!" I mimic the sound of a plane as I turn a corner I crash into something, "Shoot, sorry" He curses under his breath then looks at me. "Tide? Thank God I found you!" I jump up giggling as I sway, "Tide reporting to air control, permission to take off!" I say in a reporters voice earning a 'what the Fudge Tide?' Look from Flint. My arms spread out again and I'm about to run off, Flint reaches for my arm, "Tide? Are you- " I jump way from him.
"No you can't catch me either!!"
"What do you mean either? What did they give you? Honestly you look drunk" I start sprinting away before he manages to even finish his sentence.

I keep running but I'm stopped by a large crowd of people walking in a hurry to get to where they need to. Shouting comes from behind me and I morph into the crowd just as the agents rush from the street I was just in.

I walk against the current of people, my head whips around as i try to think of where to go, people walk past me almost in a blur bustling and shoving others out the way, talking loudly, cursing each other, their gadgets going off in all directions, colours mixing and spinning, my head is spinning and so is the world, it was so busy, there was no rest, where am I?

I stagger out of the crowd clutching my aching head. I lean against the wall of an alleyway for support. I hear loud heavy footsteps running and I allow my knees to let me collapse behind a cluster of trash bins.

My hunters run past the small side street I was in and I wait a few extra minutes just in case they came back and to clear my mind before I stand up. However I am unsuccessful and I shake my head in another attempt to clear my fuzzy mind. Still nothing.

"Ugh!!! God why can't I think?!!" I yell angrily.
"What's wrong there sweetheart?- ... Tide?" I spin round and see Flint, relief floods me, but he's wearing different clothes for some reason. "F-Flint? Why'd you change?" I ask confused.

"What are you talking about I haven't changed if anything you have, tsk pathetic. But I guess I finally found where you were hiding all that time." He spat.

"Flint help, I can't think straight" I hesitantly step closer to him (what's wrong with him? Why is he talking to me like that?)

I gulp, my throat dry as if swallowing sand I watched Flint walk to me. But, it's not like I know, it's untrusting and guarded.
"And just my luck, your not with any of your stupid pals."

"Pals? What are you-" I gasp as his fist finds a way into my gut and I double over grimacing.

"Don't play dumb with me!" He shouts, and grabs me by the neck, "I've waited a long time to do this."
(To do what? Agh his grip is too tight) "let.me.go" I manage to croak out.

"If you insist sweetheart" he releases me and just as soon as he does I twist round to punch him but my movements are slow and clumsy and Flint easily sidesteps the attack kicking me to the ground, I cry out in pain looking up at him.
