It seemed like the years had just rolled by and I couldn't have been more proud to be a mother. Especially to my smart, handsome son Elijah.
He had started to look more and more like his father, who I'd missed but refused to let place my life on hold. Which is why I went through with the idea of dating Deshawn. Although he was trapping as well, he made sure that me and Elijah came first.
I'd moved him into my apartment so that I could spend every minute with him, because he kept me sane.
We laid across the couch as we heard a pitter patter of feet come down the stairs.
"Mommy!" He called hobbling his way over to me.
I smiled picking him up and placing him on my lap. "What you doin' lil man?" I cooed tickling him, as he squirmed in my lap.
"I watch cartoon mommy, spongebob!" He clapped excitedly. He was obsessed with SpongeBob and insisted that I decorated his bed room that day.
He was gonna be 4 in a few months and I was planning a birthday party for him in LA at Disney Land, since Alicia and Tre lived there now.
"You ready for your party? How old you gonna be?"
He placed his finger on his chin as if her were thinking, and shot four fingers up, "I be four!"
"Oooo big boy!" I giggled as he wriggled himself from my grasp and onto Deshawn's lap messing with his hat.
"Aye aye aye man, you wanna fight or sum?" Said Deshawn playfully as he picked him up tossing him up as if he didn't weigh a thing.
"Put me down!" Eli demanded laughing and screaming.
Deshawn placed him down at adjusted his hat.
"Shawn can you take me to the park? I bored." Huffed Eli.
Deshawn chuckled about to nod his head, before stopping and raising his eyebrow.
"I got an even better idea... Let's wash mommy's car."
I smiled, looking at his expression.
"Okay! I need to put on my shoes I be back,". He said running upstairs.
I shook my head, as I stood up pulling Shawn into a kiss, "You ain't gotta do all that baby"
"I know, I want to.." He stated, grabbing my booty.
"Okay! I'm ready now." Interrupted Eli as he grabbed Shawn's hand forcing him out the door,
