CHELSEA
Friday had finally come upon us, and I had just gotten home from school and was currently getting ready for my date, I suppose you could call it, with Julian.
I had decided to wear a simple outfit, since it was just a trip to the amusement park. I had previously gotten Brandon to give me a ride, seeing as I was yet to get my drivers licence. I had already turned sixteen, but I failed my previous test and had decided to lay it off for at least half a year before trying again.I ran my brush through my hair one last time before putting on my shoes, and heading downstairs.
Brandon was already waiting at the door, tapping away on his phone as one of his feet were tapping on the ground the exact same rhythm. I weren't sure he was aware of it, in fact I was guessing he weren't, seeing as his attention were placed on his phone, his eyes barely blinking.
"Are you ready?" I asked as I threw him a smile, grabbing my jacket off the coat hanger beside the front door. Brandon nodded at me and grabbed the keys from the big bowl on the table next to the coat hanger.
I opened the front door and made it towards the car, getting into the passenger side and buckling my seatbelt. The ride to the amusement park were short and quiet, except for the songs that played on the radio the entire trip. The only sound Brandon made the entire trip were tapping noices on the steering wheel, when a song by Imagine Dragons were playing.
As he parked outside the amusement park I unbuckled my seatbelt and readjusted my hair. "Thanks for the ride, I really appreciate it," I said as I offered him a genuine smile.
"No problem. When am I picking you up again?" He asked as he checked the rear mirror.
"Around 8 PM would be fine. Just text me when you're on your way," I said as I opened the car door and grabbed my small bag from the back seats.
Brandon grabbed a hold of my arm, stopping me from getting out. I turned my head to look at him, curious to what he wanted to say, seeing as he normally weren't one to make a conversation. And espically not with me. "Please take care of yourself, you don't really know this guy, Chelsea." He said with a stern voice. I nodded at his words and he let go of my arm. I proceeded to get out of the car, slamming the door carefully behind me.I met up with Julian in front of the ticket booth and he had paid for us both to get a limited access wristband. I had offered to pay for my own, but as the gentleman he is, he insisted on paying for our wristbands.
We were currently in the queue to get candyfloss and some sourpatch, seeing as we both craved something sweet. "Seeing as you paid for our wristbands, you've got to let me pay for this at least," I said as we order what we wanted.
"Fine, you can have this one," He said and we both smiled at each other. "But only this one," He finished off as he lifted his finger up in the air, which made me chuckle.
"Fine," I dragged out the word, pretending to be annoyed, when in reality he knew I was enjoying this maybe a little too much.
I paid the woman at the booth and we grabbed our things, making our way towards the ferriswheel seeing as Julian had previously told me he had never dared to go on it. Apparently he was afraid of hights, not that I blamed him. Hights can be extremely terrifying, even I have to admit that and I'm a sucker for an adrenalin rush.As we stood in line to the ferriswheel, only a couple of people in front us, Julian were telling me a story about him peeing his pants his freshmen year of high school.
"I can't believe you actually peed your pants!" I exclaimed as I chuckled at his blushing cheeks.
"Hey!" He said as he threw his hands in the air, making a point. "It's not my fault! I was literally dying of laughter, and I had just drank at least a liter of water, trying to win this bet I was having with my friend." He laughed at it himself, so I, of course, couldn't help but laugh too.
I pointed forward. "It's our turn," I grinned at him, while his face showed nothing more than fear. I grabbed his hand and dragged him towards the ferriswheel, and we settled in the small wagon, making sure to secure ourselves with the belts in the small wagon. "It's not that bad, I promise," I said as I squished his hand to calm down his nerves.
The ferriswheel began moving in slow and calming motions, tilting a little bit. I had always loved the ferriswheel. It was calming and great place to be alone for a short while, if that's what you needed.
"See," I said pointing out towards the nothingness in front of us. You could basically see the whole town in front of you, when you were this high up, which weren't much of a town to be honest. The town was divided into two. The east side and the vest side, but there was forrest dividing it, which were why we called it two different things, Vest Hamilton and East Hamilton."It's beautiful," Julian said as the sun reflected in his perfectly chocolate colored eyes. And for a moment, I couldn't help but feel attracted to the human beside me.
"It is, isn't it?" I smiled at him and he turned his head towards me, returning the smile. This day with Julian had told me, that I could never see him in any different way than a friend, no matter how attractive he might be.
"It's the vest side, isn't it?" He asked as he returned to looking at the town underneath us. I turned my head to look at it as well, and as I noded my head yes, I felt grateful for the fact that this might be a beautiful blooming friendship.
"Yeah, the vest side. My side of town," I chuckled and he chuckled with me. We leaned back and enjoyed the rest of the ride, as we ate the sourpatchs./ / / / / / /
