The smell of hot summer days lingers in my lungs, while the inconspicious echoes of distant laughs and yells reside in my memory. It was a golden time, yet, not so much golden, just worthwhile. Your house felt more like home than mine ever did, or will.
It was never about the guy who tried to tear us apart, but the one who brought us together.
I can remember each of your boyfriends during this period and, sadly, I can't forget those I'd wished were mine.
Words uttered by two tongues at the same time can only be product of two halves of the same mind.
We were broken, in every sense but the literal. And, in all our instability, we somehow managed to keep each other together.
I will never forget how much you love me, or the deeds you proved it with. And love between two halves of a masterpiece doesn't die out with time, but can only subside until you decide to bring it back to life.
I hope that you still remember what I had promised, to show you how to love. I hope I did the exact same, and I hope he is of even better help.
Just remember to remember the good old times, the long nights, the fizzy drinks and the crazy parties.
You can't take away what was once shared.
