"Jordan! We love you, Jordan!" I hear the crowd cheering for me as I'm going into the locker room. I sign some kids note pad before waving and going into the locker room.
Being a professional football player has it's perks. You get to make everyone happy, people treat you like a celebrity, and plenty of random girls to sleep with. I only sleep with a selective few, though. We had just won the championship game and we were now getting ready to celebrate.
"Nice pass out there, Jordan. You have to tell me your trick." A guy named Jamie, but we call him Dirty because he gets the most dirty out of all of us on the field, comes and pats me on the back.
"Okay, it's called... skills." I joke with him.
He laughs at me before going over to his locker to take off his things. Any second now, Coach and a few other players will come in here with bottles of champagne for a small celebration. We had already planned it. If we won, pop bottles and celebrate.
"Are you hitting the club later on tonight?" I turn around to see Ryan already dressed into a championship T shirt and wearing a hat to match. He tosses me my shirt and hat, and I quickly put it on.
"Yeah, of course I am. We just won the championship, baby!" I put him in a headlock excitedly and he pushes me off of him.
Ryan and I had been on this team for three years now. We both wanted to play football. Even though we went to different schools in college, we got drafted to the same team. Imagine how excited I was to see my best friend at the ceremony. Of course we had stayed in touch, but it wasn't the same not seeing the same three guys you see every day. Troy took over his family's company and he's been in a couple of magazines for being a sexy single millionaire. Daniel went to school for computers. I never knew the guy was that smart, but I guess he's smarter than any of us.
"Alright, let's ride together. I'll meet you back at the hotel." We do our handshake that we've been doing since high school before going our separate ways. I go back to putting my things in my bag when Coach enters the room.
"Outstanding job out there guys. We fought hard and we earned that trophy. We earned that title. So would our MVP please come to the front." Everyone's eyes land on me and I walk up to the front with a stupid grin on my face. Who doesn't like making their coach proud?
"Jordan, would you do the honors." Coach hands me a bottle of champagne and I smile at this.
"Before I open this bottle, I just want to let you all know that you guys are like my brothers. I used to not let a lot of people in, but when you're surrounded by a bunch of idiots like you guys, it's hard not to." Everyone laughs at my insult, but knows that that is how I am.
"Anyways, I love you guys. You guys are my family and will always be." I hold the bottle up before bringing it back down and popping it open. The liquid sprays out everywhere and the other guys open a few other bottles.

Ryan and I enter the club that Dirty and Jason — a guy from the team— chose. I see most of the players on the team who are single sitting in a VIP section for us. Most of the people on the team are married and they probably wanted to go home to their wives and what not. Nothing is wrong with that. But when you're single like I am, going home isn't an option. It's boring sitting in my condo with no one to keep me entertained. I spend most of my time out than in.
We go over to them and Dirty immediately pushes a shot into my hand. I down the drink back and he cheers. He's probably on his forth or fifth one right now. There are a couple of girls over here with us, trying to get lucky tonight. When you just won a championship, everyone wants to be seen with you. You could be the water boy on the team and everyone would still want to be next to you. A blonde headed girl with blue eyes makes her way over to me. I stay away from her kind. She reminds me too much of the girl I'm still in love with it. After all this time, you would have thought I would have been over her but I'm not. I don't know what she's doing or how she's living. After we both went off to different colleges, I never heard from her again. I tried calling and texting, but she would never answer me. I know I hurt her and that I was supposed to be giving her space, but I just couldn't seem to. Anyways, eventually I stopped trying. I had to focus on my football career. That doesn't mean that she doesn't cross my mind every now and then. Well, every day. I always wonder if she's doing okay. She's strong and smart, so there's no doubt in my mind she's good financially. But is she okay emotionally?
