"Ugh, Troy isn't picking up." I toss my phone to the side of me.
Abby comes over to me, grabbing my hands. "He'll call you back."
"What if he doesn't? He's supposed to be my best man at the wedding."
Abby and I have been throwing the wedding together for the past three days. It's supposed to be in two more weeks, but I don't know if we'll even make the deadline. It's a lot more stressful than I thought it would be.
"I'm honestly surprised you chose Troy as your best man." She says, not saying it in an offensive way.
"Well, he's part of the reason why we got together." I joke.
Abby scowls at me, "Don't and if you or him bring that up at the wedding, I will kill you both."
"If all else fails, I guess Ryan will be my best man." I sit down on the couch, pulling Abby onto my lap. I place my hands on her stomach, noticing that her stomach isn't as flat as it was a few weeks ago.
"I know, I'm putting on weight." She says, dropping her head and her cheeks turning red out of embarrassment.
I lift her chin, "Hey, don't ever be embarrassed about gaining weight. You're carrying our son. Besides, a baby bump is going to look sexy as hell on you."
She laughs at me, kissing me briefly. "I'm going to laugh when the doctor tells us it's a girl."
I roll my eyes dramatically, "Whatever. I got an email from my coach yesterday."
"What about?" She asks.
"The team will start practicing in a few more weeks. Well, conditioning."
She pushes the hair on my forehead back before looking into my eyes. "This won't interfere with you being there for me when I give birth?"
I can see the worry in her eyes. A sepulchral look appears on her face and I reach up to smooth the lines of worry from her forehead. There's been so many times that I've let her down, but I would never miss the birth of our child.
"Of course it won't. I'll be the one to drive you to the hospital and I'll be the one to hold our son when he first comes out." I reassure her with a smile.
"You mean our girl." She smirks.
"Like I said." I smile, kissing her softly. I love her so much. She has always had my heart from the first moment I saw her. I didn't know it at the time, but she would be my forever.
"Are you hungry? I'm going to make dinner." She stands up, going into the kitchen.
"Why don't you relax and let me make dinner?" I go over to her, grabbing her hand and stopping her from going into the kitchen.
"All I do is relax. I'm pregnant not handicap." She pulls her hand away from me and looks into the freezer to see what she can find for us to eat.
"Alright, Mrs. Collins." I wink.
She turns around and smiles at me like I'm her whole world. The sight makes my heart warm and sends an electricity through my body.
"Not yet, but soon." She smiles, elated.

"Congratulations to my best friend, Jordan Collins!" Daniel raises his beer into the air and I along with Ryan and Stephen do the same.
I take a sip of the beer before putting it down. "Has anyone heard anything from Troy?"
I can see the cheerful mood on everyone's face change when I mention Troy. Guilt is clear on Daniel's face while Ryan and Stephen are giving me sympathetic looks. They know that Troy and I are close and that he's going to be my best man, that is if he shows up.
