"Heather, hurry!" Lexi yelled at me from the other side of the schoolyard. "ugh gotta run, Abby can you get to your class alone?" She stared up at me with her daring eyes as if daring me to let her walk alone so she can run to mommy and daddy, ugh i hate her. "if you don't walk me to my class, i might get lost! If i get lost mommy and daddy will yell at you!" brat. "can't you walk alone? you know the way!" "i'm in grade one! Of course I'm not allowed to walk alone, but you don't care you just want me to get kidnapped by that mean bear in little red riding hood!" i sigh, today was going really well for me so far. I woke up at 6:00 a.m i had enough time to curl my dark brown hair, my eyeliner was on fleek and i'd chosen the cutest outfit for the first day of school too. A beautiful white and blue ombre T-shirt with light blue skinny jeans with- of course- i paired with my black and white high tops and it went perfectly against my lightly tanned skin. Unlike Abby who still had mom to choose her clothes for her, she had her hair tied up into a tight ponytail (courtesy of mom) her T-shirt had a picture of Cinderella and her mice paired with mom's favorite...black corduroy pants and her ugly old princess shoes. I was not about to let some 6 year old ruin my day. "fine Abby let's go but hurry up"
I drop Abby off at her class line-up and run back toward the intermediate field. I look around and finally find Lexi at the corner of the field, i know it's her because of her red hair, curled. Also she's with a boy...hmm i can't tell who it is. I run toward her and i hear her giggling. Lexi does not giggle like, ever. When i finally catch up it takes a moment for me to catch my breath but after breathing in and out for 5 minutes like a dying donkey i pick up head to see, that she was talking to ken. My ken. The Ken i've crushed on since grade five, the Ken Abby embarrassed me in front of in grade 6 by yelling "Heather LOVES YOU"
