chapter one

"Hey, mom can you help me carry the last few boxes to the car?" I yelled downstairs.

"Ya give me a minute I want to finish the dishes," she yelled back.

I am scared and excited. I am going to live with my dad in California. My parents are divorced. It's been over 10 years since they got divorced. They were high school sweethearts. The years after the accident were really rough on them. They still talk like best friends. Jaxson went with dad when he moved across the US. David and I stayed with mom. I couldn't bring myself to leave my home. I live with my mom  still but I am going to live with my dad. The college I am going to is in California. My dad said I could live with him. That 

"Okay what boxes you need help carrying out?"my mom asked she walked into my room.

"These three are the only ones I have left." I'm going to the 3 boxes by my bedroom door.

" I still can't believe you're going to college.Are you leaving tonight or tomorrow morning?" She looks at me with a weird look on her face.

"Mom we have been over this I am leaving in the morning because Jaxson and David are coming here tonight. You know I wanted to say bye to them in person."I give her are you even listening look.

"Ok well dinner is cooking , and it is your favorite." She picks up one of the boxes and starts to walk downstairs.

I pick up a box and starts to walk toward the steps . My steps have a closet under them, and I noticed the door was open as I walked out to my car.

"Mom is Jaxson home already?"

"Ya he is hiding isn't he?"

"Yep under the steps." We both started to laugh.

I put the box in the trunk and closed it, and mom put the box she had on the floor in the front. We started walking inside as my other brother pulled up in the driveway.

"Grace come give me a hug," David said as he got out of his car.

"No, you have to chase me for." I ran track in high school so i am faster than David.

I took off running and so did David. We ran around the block. I ran through the neighbor's yard. I was almost home when my neighbor James walked out in front of me. I knocked him over ,and feel on top of him.

"Sorry James I was away from David," I said getting up off him.

" Paige it is OK. Why were you running from him?" He said as he was getting off the ground.

"He wanted a hug so I was making him catch me." Just i as i finish my sentence David wraps his arms around me.

"Hello James how have you been it been forever?" Really David how dumb can you be? I asked myself.

He is my twin brother so we are really close.

"Very well what are you doing back?" James ask.

"I came back to spent time with my twin before she leaves for college," David said as he let me go.

"Paige you're leaving for college. Why didn't you tell anyone?" James looks hurt by me not telling him.

"i didn't tell anyone.I didn't even tell Cheyenne yet" I say and i jump on David's back.

"Well, sorry bud but mom said dinner was done when i got here. I don't want it to get cold." David shook ,James, hand and walk to the house.

David set me down and I walk to the kitchen and made up plate and went into the dining room and sat down.

"Who won?" Jackson asked while putting food in his mouth

"Who do you think dumbass?"I took a bite of my food.

"You because you always win." he was talking with his mouth full he fucking knows I hate that. I shook my head no "Really you were beat by him?"

This time shaking my head yes "Well that is only because I ran into James and fell." I said before I took another bite of my food.

David finally came and sat down next to me just as he started to eat there was a knock on the door.

" I'll answer it ."I said getting up and walking to the door.

There's one window at the top of my door I get off my tiptoes and work out and I see James let me tell you a secret I've always had a crush on him.

"Hey James what do you need" I'm trying not to look at him for too long.

"Nothing i just wanted to know if i could come over for a little bit to spend some time with you and your brothers before you leave for college."He said. "Are you hungry we are eating still but I can come back after you're done eating he started to walk out the door

"come on you lived here growing up come eat with us one more time plus is not complete without you so come on let's go eat." I said grabbing his arm to stop him.

"Okay I will stay." he smiled and I let him go and we walked to the dining room and sat down and ate.

After we finished eating we all went to the living room to watch a movie my mom phone started to ring.

"Hello no I can't my daughter is leaving in the morning." She said into the phone.

I know who my mom is talking to but she doesn't know I know she has a boyfriend.

"Mom know I'm not leaving till noon tomorrow?"she looks at me and smiles. "Never mind be there in 10." she gets off the phone and gets her keys and tells us she loves us and leaves.

"So you guys want to go swimming tonight or something?" I asked as I got off the couch.

"Yeah" they all answered it once.

"All your guys swimming trunks are still in the box under the stairs," I say as I walk out of living room and up to my room.

I left my bikini was a batman top and black bottoms. I started to put on the black bottoms the Batman on and there was a knock on my door.

"Hey, where are the towels ?"David asked.

"They're not in the box? Now close the door or turn around so I can finish getting dressed." I said and David turned around.

I know what you're thinking and I trust him and he is afraid of me because he knows I will kick his ass, but I am a girl but I know how to fight. The first fight I got into it I broke someone's arms and her legs people no longer fuck with me.
