Kumiko's POV:
I decided to go to Sensei's house. Sensei Misaki. I think it'd be nice if they met. Not only does she know how to play violin, but she can play the piano, cello, viola, bass, and more. So I think she'd be a good mentor to Mako-chan.
Makoto's POV:
We stopped at a burger place and grabbed our food to go. Kumiko can eat. She ordered 2 burger meals and finished everything. Before me!
While I was finishing up my soda, I noticed that this was the way to Sensei's house. But I don't think she knows her.
We talk a bit about school and stuff and she keeps talking about how she participates in violin events. I pretend I'm listening, but really, I'm distracted. Kumiko did something to me. All these memories I buried are finding its way back to the surface.
I feel someone shaking my shoulder.
"Mako-chan. Are you listening?" Kumiko asks and I come back to reality
"We're here." she says as she rings the door bell
I look around examining the house. Then the door opened. It was...
"Sensei." I say thinking out loud
"You know her?" Kumiko asks
"I was wondering when the day would come where you two would cross paths." Sensei said
Kumiko's POV:
I was a little stunned that he knew her, but not that surprised.
"Misaki, you mean you knew a guy who could've been my accompanist all along?" I whine
"It was a good experience for you to work with other people." Misaki said
"Wait. You call her Misaki?" Mako asks
"Ya. I knew her since I was little." I answer
"I did too, but I mainly saw her as my teacher." Mako says
"Come in guys. You want some tea?" Misaki asks
"Sure." we reply and come in, making ourselves comfortable on the couch
"So, what brings you two here?" Misaki asks
"I wanted to work on a piece I figured out. And we came here because he didn't want to stay at the school." I explain
"Wait. You guys actually played together before? When? How?" Misaki asks
She's like a teenager. Ever since I first met her, I've seen her as a mother and as a friend.
"We met at the school when we stayed late. I was there to look at the sunset. But I was practicing violin like you said to, and he came in right after I finished." I explain
"Mako is this true?" Misaki asked
"Ya she sounded like mom." Mako said looking down
Misaki's face looked like she expected this.
"Wait. Are you two together?!" she asks smiling excitedly
"NO." (Kumiko)
"In a way" (Mako)
We both say at the same time.
"What do you mean in a way?" Misaki asks looking at Mako in a suspicious way
"Well because I wanted to-" I cut Mako off by elbowing him
"It's complicated Misaki I-" I was cut off by Misaki
"Well, well, well. Even Kumiko doesn't want to talk about it." Misaki says thinking out loud.
"Kumiko, stay quiet. Mako, explain." Misaki orders
"But-" I try to say, but Misaki shushes me.
I pout and look down and hold one of the black cats walking around the floor.
"Well..." Mako explains everything to Misaki
I just sit there listening and feeling shame. But then again, I owe Misaki everything. She helped me a lot.
While I listen, I see that the cat I'm petting has a collar. It said Emiko. When I heard that, I immediately thought of the violinist who was famous for a short while, then died after an accident.
"And now we're here." Mako finishes ands lets out a sigh and leans back on the couch
"I think none of you are gonna win the challenge. Both of you are gonna fall in love. I ship you too." Misaki says
Instead of rolling my eyes, my cheeks turn pink a little and I saw it on Mako-chan. But I think he's distracted.
Everything got awkward after that. So I spoke up.
"Misaki can we use your piano and your violin?" I ask
"Of course you can. It's not like I can use it anyways." Misaki said
"Don't say things like that. I believe your gonna be able to play somehow. But thanks for letting us use it." I say
Me and Mako go to the room with the piano and Mako adjusts the seat and gets comfortable while I get my violin ready.
"Here's the sheet music." I say
"Love Story?" Mako asks
"Yup." I say as I put my computer on the piano to see what I came up with
We played the song, and whenever something sounded funny, me and Mako would stop and talk about it till we got it to how we liked it.
We did this all night and lost track of time. Sometimes we'd argue about what sounded good, but in the end, it was a master piece. It sounded like this...
Makoto's POV:
When we finally played the piece to how we wanted it, the sun was rising.
Kumiko grabbed my arm unexpectedly and dragged me out of the room. For a little lady, she sure is strong.
"Where are we going?" I ask tiredly
"Hurry up slow poke, or we're gonna be late!" Kumiko asks
"Be late for what?" I say, then I look into her eyes
They're so full of happiness that they're practically sparkling. She flashed me a slight smile and before I knew it, we were on Sensei's roof.
"For this." Kumiko says looking into the distance at the sunrise
I look around me, and everything around me seemed more colorful. The sunrise meant something to me now. I felt something when I looked at it, and it was peaceful. I haven't felt like that since my mom died.
Misaki's POV:
So those two finally found each other. It's about time they both had some happiness in their lives.
Kumiko's POV:
Usually when I look at the sunrise, it just looks beautiful and I feel happy. But this time, everything around me seemed brighter, and when I looked at the sunrise I felt something weird but good. I don't know how to explain it.
