Chap.3:You Promised You'd Stay, But I Guess Promises Were Meant To Be Broken

Carson's POV

Him:Ok so we're basically making like a new version of this song. Same beat and chorus but different rap. Do have any ideas what you're gonna do for it?

Me:No. Not really I'm gonna need some time to think about it.

Him:Well ok but I was think how about we change this letter to a K instead of having it as a C. You know to change it up a bit.

He pointed to one of the letters on the old title name.

Me:*rolls eyes* Uh sure. That's cool.

Him:Hey are you alright? You don't seem to be so into this right now.

Me:Oh yeah perfectly fine. Just trying to think what I'm gonna write for the rap.

Truth was I really didn't want to be around him or have him figure out that at one point we were best friends anyways I'm not that same girl anymore. I'm actually a lot more confident and I'm friends with people who everyone says that once their careers end will be considered legends in the music industry forever.

Him:Oh ok well I'll leave you to that since I got the easy part of the song. I'm gonna get some Subway you want anything?

Me:Uh sure. I'd like a ham and cheese sub with mayo and a double chocolate chip cookie.

Him:Really?

Me:What?

Him:That was always mine and...

All of a sudden he stopped talking.

Me:And who?

Him:Nobody. It's my favorite.

Me:Ok?

He walked out with a sad look on his face. Well that was weird. I mean that was always my favorite sub to get from Subway even when me and Austin were friends but I knew he couldn't have been talking about me, he doesn't even remember me, I mean I didn't even change that much I just went from having glasses to wearing contacts and from wearing sweatshirts and sweatpants all the time to a more stylish look that I just absolutely love. I even recently became the new covergirl or should I say la nueva covergirl since it's the Spanish version of it instead of English. Anyways I sat there thinking about what I was going to write for my part of the song. When I suddenly remembered the time when he left me, the time when he completely forgot about me.

*Flashback*
Another year has gone by and both me and Austin are 16. Austin's really popular at school now since he's become YouTube famous. We haven't hung out in like 4 months I don't even bother texting him anymore to see if he can hang out since he always gives me the same stupid excuses like "I'm hanging with the boys today", "Oh I'm hanging with Taylor today", "I'm busying working on a new cover", and "I'm busying doing a ustream for my Mahomies." I mean i completely understand the last two but him being so busy is the exact reason why for one day he can't sit at our no wait my table during lunch! Or that he can't even say hi to me in the hallway inbetween classes! It's official Austin has broken his promise to me, he forgot about me. Anyways I was on my way to my last class for the day when I noticed a crowd of people and heard two people yelling I walked up to the crowd and saw Taylor and Austin having an argument.

Taylor:Ugh! I don't give a damn about your dreams Austin! You either choose me or we're through!

Austin:Fine! I choose my dreams! I don't need a slut like you holding me back anyways!

Taylor:Fine then we're through! I only dated you since you were YouTube famous anyways!

She walked off and Austin looked heartbroken. Well I totally saw that coming, like not the part where they'd break up but where Taylor would use Austin for her own needs. Everyone started walking to class since that little scene ended so I walked to my class too.

After school....
Well I just got home walking from school about an hour ago and was doing some homework when I got a call from a number I didn't recognize, it was from the area though so I decided to answer it.

*Phone Convo*
Me:Hello?

???:Hi this is the San Antonio Hospital calling for a Carson Howard?

Me:This is she.

Hospital:Oh well we are sorry to inform you that your dad and stepmom died from a horrible car crash. I'm sorry we tried everything we could to save them but it was too late.

Me:Oh my god!

Hospital:We are very sorry for your loss. A social worker should be coming to your house tomorrow to discuss about where you're going to live and with who.
*End of Convo*

Then I hung up and just sat there completely shocked then my phone slipped out of my hands as my eyes welled with tears and I let out a ear piercing scream while I fell on the floor crying my eyes out. When I felt like I could at least talk to someone I picked up my phone and dialed Austin's number cause even though he forgot about me he was the only one who could help me, but he didn't answer. I tried a couple more times but I got the same result, so I decided to text his friend Alex. Yeah I know what you're thinking "how did you get his number?" Well we all hung out together one time and long story short it was really awkward but we decided to exchange numbers in case of an emergency or to help each other with homework or something like that.

*Text Convo*
Me:Hey Alex. Quick question do you know where Austin is?

Alex:Uh Yeah. Didn't he tell you?

Me:Tell me what?

Alex:That he's moving to Miami today. He's already on the plane.

Me:What?!?!

Alex:Yeah. He didn't tell you?

Me:No. Anyways gtg l8r

Alex:Bye
*End of Text Convo*

I put my phone down and grabbed one of the cushions on the couch and screamed into it. I can't believe it! He just left me! On the day my dad and stepmom died too! Everyone around me who I loved just left me. I'm all alone.
*End of Flashback*

I felt the tears fall down my cheeks while my breathing hitched trying to stop the tears and pull myself together. Then I heard the door open.

Him:Hey I'm back and...hey why're you crying?

He put our subs down on the table and ran over then sat by me.

Me:It's nothing I just remembered the day when my dad and stepmom died. That was also the day my best and only friend left me. So I had a rough time going through all that and stuff.

Him:Oh. Well I'm sorry I didn't know that.

Me:It's ok.

Him:So got anything for that rap yet?

Me:Uh yeah a little...

2 hours later....
So I'm pretty sure you want to know who I am cause it's obvious that you think my name is Carson. No I didn't change my name or anything like that more like my dad always liked that name but my mom didn't like it since it sounded so boyish and had a different name in mind to name me so that name ended up being my real name and Carson was a nickname that my dad always called me whenever my mom wasn't around. So yeah after my dad and stepmom died I moved back in with my mom. Yeah my parents divorced when I was 10, I remember them arguing because of all the stress for getting money and we basically used to live in my grandpa's garage.

Me:Yep!
