I walked into the twins room holding a basket full of clean clothes. Cyn didn't like me doing too many chores, especially when I was home alone. It was almost time for me to go get the twins. I sat the basket down and the phone started ringing. I hurried into the living room and answered.
"Hello?" I breathed.
"Yes, how are you ma'am. May I speak with Cynthia Waters?" A man's voice came over the phone.
"She's not here right now, may I take a message." I asked.
"Actually-"
The doorbell suddenly rang. I sighed.
"I'm sorry about that, what'd you say your name was again?" I asked the man. But I only got the dial tone. I looked at the phone confused and shrugged walking to the door.
I opened the door to find a tall man wearing a baseball cap with his back to the door.
"Hi? May I help you?" I asked coolly.
The man slowly turned and a devious smirked played on his lips. Immediately my heart dropped.
"My dear sister-in-law. You look stunning! How've you been?" He grinned.

I grinned from ear to ear as I shook my new business partners hand. We just closed the deal for the hottest new software that has yet been released. As I knew we would.
"It will be a pleasure working with you Cyn. I can't wait to get started." Denzel Carter spoke. He was the inventor of the new software and would be moving into the office in a few months.
"You and I both. Together we will do great things, I know it." I smiled.
"I couldn't agree more." Chelsea walked up excitedly.
"So, are we still on for drinks tonight or what?" She laughed.
"You bet! Of course. Which reminds me. I need to call Ness and tell her the good news." I smiled. "Denzel. Again, can't wait to start working with you. If you'd excuse me." I pardoned myself and grabbed my things to leave.
I walked to the elevator and felt my pockets realizing I left my phone in my office.
The elevator doors opened and I stepped off heading in the direction of my office. The employees all started cheering and clapping or me. Guess they heard the good news. I smiled and waved as I made it to my office being stopped by Amber.
"Congrats on closing the deal boss." She smiled.
"Thank you so much. It really is a weight off of my shoulders. Did I get any calls?" I asked.
"Actually you did. The daycare called and said Vanessa still hasn't picked the boys up." She said. My face turned up in confusion.
"And then Vanessa called looking for you about 20 minutes ago. She says you need to call her ASAP." She explained.
"Did she say what was wrong? Is she okay?" I started to panic.
