The next day at school, I was happy to see Oliver again. I asked him if he wanted to come over to my house later, and he gladly accepted. Later that day, he came over. We sat by the river and talked. I got to know him really well. My dad met him. Everything seemed to go well. After he left, we had dinner. "Allie, are you sure Oliver's just a friend?" "Of course, dad! I haven't forgotten my promise." I felt terrible lying to him. Not only had we kissed, but Oliver had asked me to be his girlfriend. I accepted. "I'm glad. Be careful, okay?" my dad said. "I will."
I hated lying to him like that, but if it meant I could be with Oliver, I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Oliver and I continued to have secret dates almost every day for a month after that. I loved every second of it. By now, everybody in school knew. My dad still didn't.
One night, we went to an abandoned barn together, the roof had fallen off. We layed on the grassy floor together, looking up at the stars. We kissed multiple times, and soon, it turned into more.
All I remember was saying, "Of course. I love you," when he asked me if I was sure. I truly felt like I was in love.
Back at home, I realized what I had done. I had broken my promise with my dad again, told Oliver I loved him, and made love with him in an abandoned barn. What had I just done?
