                                                           Chapter one

“Chloe! Breakfast!” My mom yells from downstairs.

“Be right there mom!”

I slip on my black vans and put my light blue sweatshirt over my black tank top. I quickly clip a blue bow on the back of my plain straight brown hair. I stare at my reflection in the mirror. Im not tall like my perfectly perfect sister, Angelique. We call her Angel for short but there isn’t anything Angel like about her. We only have blue eyes in common, but if you look deep into her icy blue eyes, you will get shivers up your arm, trust me.

“Chloe, hurry your little butt up” Angel yells throughout the house.

Ah, breakfast, I forgot.

I rush down stairs and head towards the kitchen.

“Foods on the table” My mother signals me to go to the table. My sister got all my mom’s qualities and left none for me. They share the same blonde hair, then long bodies and almost the exact same face features.

I sit down at the table and start munching on my favorite cereal, Lucky Charms.

“Be careful of how many carbs you eat, You don’t want to get more, You know, pudgy” Angel says with a disgusting look on her face, while grabbing an apple from the fruit basket on the kitchen counter.

“Angel no fights, not today, not ever” My mom says with voice.

“Like that’s going to ever happen” I mumble.

“Good luck at school baby girl” She kisses my forehead and waves goodbye to Angel then bolts out the door.

“You need to find a ride, just giving you a heads up” Angel faked a smile.

“I thought I was riding with you?”

“Um, No” Angel says with a laugh. “I can’t take my loser, no cheerleader nobody sister”

I blink and try to understand, how she, of all people, is my biological sister.

“Just go ride the yellow bus” She gave me a wicked smile, grabbed her keys, and marched out of the kitchen.

I let out a frustrated sigh. Why does she have to do this to me? She is the only one with a car cause she is the oldest, of course.

I glimpse at the clock. “6:50” Shit. The bus is going to leave in five minutes.

I took one last bite of my lucky charms then ran upstairs to grab my Jansport backpack. I ran as fast as I can, I felt like I flew off the stairs and through the door.

Once I neared the bus stop at the end of my street, An yellow object was already exiting the neighborhood. The bus.

“No! Please come back!” I scream loudly. “Damn it”

Well I guess I am walking to school on my 1st day of sophomore year. I start walking down the road that felt like it never ended. I took a peek at my phone. “7:10” School starts in 20 minutes; I’ll never make it on time, at least not on foot.

I let out a sigh & struggled to keep my legs moving. I though it couldn’t get any more worse, Well I stand corrected.

It starts pouring hard. I quickly put my hood from my sweatshirt over my head. I jog a little bit down the street but soon enough a car passes me, so not noticing a girl in the rain getting drenched on. The car comes to a halt, staying on the road, not moving an inch. I took the chance and run toward the car. The window on the passenger seat reels down.

“Hey, what are you doing out here?” A guy says behind the driver’s wheel.

“Just felt like getting rained on, Excuse me, while I go get even wet” I start to back away from the car.

He just stared at me for a second and the flipped his gorgeous brown hair.

“I hope that’s sarcasm, because I’ll give you a ride if you want”

“That would be nice” I smile.

He unlocked the door and I climbed into his Red mustang. I sat in the passenger seat, the air conditioner was on high and I was freezing to death. I swear, I saw icicles forming on my hair.

“So why were you walking in the rain?” He questions.

I shrug as a I say “Like I said, I felt like it”

He glanced at me with a “get real” look on his face.

After a couple minutes, I broke down.

“FINE! If you must know, My sister didn’t give me a ride to school when she was supposed to, She told me to ride the bus, but yay me, cause the bus was already long gone when I showed up at the bus-stop.  So I was stuck walking to school then it rained!” I moved my arms to display my soaking wet clothes. I felt bad for letting my anger go onto him. It’s not his fault my sister is a low selfish little bi---. Never mind..

“Seems like your sis is a pleasant person” He says with a hint of sarcasm.

I chuckled.

“What?” He asks raising an eyebrow.

“If you were any other guy at my school, they would disagree” Since she is so perfect.

Wait, I’m in a car with a stranger, that might not even know where my high school is or possibly isn’t even in High school.  Though, he does look around my age. He has a young face.

“Um sorry if this sounds rude but, I don’t really know you and defiantly don’t trust you”

The look on his face told that what I said hurt. I died a little inside.

“Well, You should at least trust me, cause I trust you in my car, I could’ve left you for the dead on the side of the road”

Minutes went by with nothing being said, So I decide to break the silence.

“Well, what school do you go to?” I’m hoping that he doesnt go to my school, that isn’t anything to be guilty of right?

“I’m a sophomore at Clay High school, I’m 17, and just a lovely top about myself, I love to sing and write music”

Ah dang it, he goes to my school. Well I guess he won’t be late to his school then. I’m just hoping we don’t run into Angelique. That would not end pretty, and this stranger probably won’t ever talk t me again. I studied him closely; He does seem like a rock star type.

“Well, do you sing solo or in a….” My voice trails off when we enter the high school. Teenagers are everywhere, walking in the parking lot, holding hands with each other, all of them in their cliques they belong to. Well at least l know the bell hasn’t rang at all. Thank you Jesus.

He parks in an open spot, his car would’ve blend if it wasn’t for its beautiful shade of red. I open the car door almost hitting its neighbor. I jump out and start walking towards the school leaving the beautiful brown hair stranger behind. I had a feeling in my stomach that I should at least show some gratitude. After all, He did lend me a ride.

I spin around and come face to face to him. His brown hair swayed with the wind, his smile was to die for.

“Thank you again for everything..”

“Keaton”

“What?” I ask clearly confused.

“That’s my name and you better not forget” He winked and heads toward the school without turning around.
