Demons

She was the queen and I her loyal knight. I was her butler her servant whatever you want to name it. Not by force but by will..I wanted to serve her. I stood still and drew my sword at every demon who dared touch your fragile skin and burn it with hate. I had sworn to die in battle to protect you...I was loyal to you.

Days and nights would pass until I we fell into a forbidden love. The master and its servant...in love? Never. If you said the word..the sentence I would've stoped the feelings from blooming. I knew you felt something for me... but you never decided to tell me despite me needing to know.

Demons suddenly started emerging from unknown places more and more often. Where did they come from? In masses they would surround us, and I fought tooth and nails. Cuts that wouldn't heal remained on my skin, but I was glad yours remained untouched. It started becoming too dangerous, and I decided to put an end to it. I looked for the source responsible for the apparitions of these 'demons'...what I found was horrific sight. It must be a lie!

In my quest to stop the evil creatures, I had finally found the main source. To my surprise, my body lay cold and rotting on the moist ground. No! What is this!? My heart... it was the...root to these demons. Somewhere also yours, but...mine were the ones hurting you the most. All this time I was protecting you from me! I killed that old me and left my place as your knight. I was in no position to protect you. You never told me a thing, whether I did or didn't hurt you...you kept it to yourself. Otherwise, I saw it as me hurting you despite it being a false statement, and decided to quit my position and go fight my own demons.

I had too many to count. Wether I was an angel or a demon in your eyes, I did not care. My thirst for blood and your eyes full of fear sustained me. Whatever it was. I knew I was a demon dressed as an angel. Although I'm positive I did not ruin this relationship between me and you, I'm no saint. My true nature is different.

The queen is surrounded by people of her class. People with dignity. The knight found a prince but still preserves her loyalty towards the queen, hoping that one day she will serve her. The prince and knight fight their battles together, and the queen is safe on her throne. This is what you see on the outside.

Yet in the reality...the queen stands still on her thron, alone and full of scars, for her knight has left. The knight returned to the hell it belonged to along with its fellow demons, where her skin is ripped off but she continues. She fights for her and for the prince she loves and has by her side. Now, one sits still, waiting to be saved, while the other fights the endless demons that will never go away. One is sad, but happy that the knight is gone. The other is killing demons, full of mixed emotions from hatred to love, and from insane laughs and thoughts to soft cries full of despair.

Only the future knows if these unfortunate souls will ever meet again.
