EPILOGUE
-----1YEAR LATER-----
The rain fell hard and persistent, each drop blending together to create a complicated rhythm. A lonely figure passed underneath the tall willow trees inhabiting the cemetery. Maneuvering his way through headstones and statues, the man stopped by a newer memorial stone, It was beautifully carved, one of a kind: Engraved in the rock was a simple image: a tree branch hung from the side, attached was a swing, held up by chains of sunflowers. Seated on the swing was a young girl, her hair blowing in the wind. Written in the stone were the words:
"In loving memory of
Becky Angeline Destiny Wolf,
Hero, daughter, sister,
Loved by many,
Loved all,
March 14, 2000- August 29, 2013
'All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost,
The old that is strong does not wither,
And deep roots are not reached by the frost.
-J.R.R Tolkien."
The figure squatted down and rubbed his hand along the smooth stone, and smiled thought the tears concealed by the rain. Dropping something protected in his coat, a bright, vibrant sunflower, he stood and remained silent. After a minute or two, the Time Lord grinned sadly one last time, and departed.
The mysterious man walked briskly from the graveyard, to a wooden, blue phone box at the corner of the grim street. Upon unlocking it, the man entered, casting his gaze one last time longingly on the splash of yellow upon a special grave before shutting the doors behind himself; and along with the blue box, disappearing into thin air. The loneliest man in the universe, off to explore time and space,
Alone again.
Hidden on the stone was a small image, blended in with the flower chains, the very same, blue box, containing that same mad man himself,
The Doctor.
~~~~~~~~~~~
A woman stood solemnly in her kitchen, washing dishes in the sink. The rain outside was adding weight to her sadness. Today marked the one year date of her daughter's death. Sighing depressively, she placed down the plate she was currently working on and looked longingly out the window. Staring up at the sky, her thoughts led to words.
"Oh, my sweetheart, Becky. I wish you could still be with me," she sobbed, tears streaming down her tan cheeks, "I'm sorry baby. I go to sleep every night missing you. Oh, I hope your happy, wherever you are."
Pursing her lips, she let the salty drops climb freely down her face. The grieving mum whispered,
"I hope your with Elliot, and your dad."
And at that, precise moment, the sun shone down on the Wolf residence, and for once in a very, very, long time,
She smiled, a real smile.
And her daughter, from her happy place in the clouds,
Grinned back.
The End.
