I rang the doorbell and mom opened the door.

"Wha-God, Diana! What have you done? Where were you? Di-"

"Mom, shh. Le-let me take rest. I h-have to use the ba-bathroom. G-get aside", I stammered.

I got into my room and walked towards my bathroom to take a shower. Warm water. Wow.

I stripped off whatever I was wearing, stumbling as I reached for the shower knob. My clothes were insanely heavy, full of mud and water.

I stayed in there for a long time, relaxing. I turned off the water when it started to go cold. I came out of the bathroom and switched on the heater. "Oh, God. It's insanely cold. God, please do something about it.  Do something real fast! A girl in a towel, who's pretty much paralyzed by cold, is praying!" I said as I took out some warm clothes out of my closet.

I put my clothes on and opened the door of my room a crack and peered out. Suddenly, my mom popped out of nowhere. "Mom! You scared the hell out of me!"

"I-I'm sorry. Tell me what had happened to you," she said.

"Um, I had fallen into a frozen stream and-"

"What? How? And where's Rustie? Dee, tell me the whole thing right away!"

"Bollocks! Rustie! She-uh, she's stuck." I told her everything that had happened.

"Oh, Dee. You should've called me. Or Amanda. Wait, let me ask Levi to bring her back."

Levi was my cousin, the closest cousin. He helped us with every little thing when dad was away.

"Yeah, okay. And get me something to eat, please. I'm aggressively hungry."

Mom came out of the kitchen with a lot of food; turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing and a hot cup of chicken soup. By this time, I was hungrier than I'd ever been in my entire life.

I ate and ate until I was satisfied. "Mom, I'm going to sleep and don't forget to call Levi. I need Rustie in an hour. I've my art class," I said and left for my room.

Ah! My bed! Warm. Soft. "Oh, I missed you so much!" I said and slept.

"Wake up, girl, wake up." I heard a voice.
