Chapter Four

Some secrets should stay secrets

I walked back over to the door that led to the kitchen, I glanced around inside. There was a table and three chairs, kitchen widows, which underneath was the sink I used about half an hour ago. There were glass cabinets full of handmade pottery and carved ornaments.  It was a very square room, in fact so was the living room. In the corner of the room parallel to the windows was a another door, and a tall black fridge. Well, for an old fashioned house, he did have some fancy stuff I smiled. But even though all of these things he had were things I had never seen, it was obvious it was all handmade, Apart from the fridge of course. I wanted to see what was behind that door, it looked heavy duty, unlike the one that led her into the kitchen. The handle was cold and smooth when I ran my fingers across it, I could not resist. I pulled down the big steel handle, again with the same engraved pattern on as the other door, and pushed it. It stood still, so I pulled it. Dam! Locked! “Oh... I know!” I whispered to myself mischievously. “Cål, Fûřå” I whispered to the handle. There were a series of quiet clicks then one heavy crack. I was satisfied; I didn’t even feel that much of a power strain. Then I tried the handle and the door swung out wards quite easily, considering its size. The hinges were well used as they didn’t make a creaking noise. Now, let’s see what secrets this door has behind it shall we?

It was pitch black! I couldn’t even see a light switch.

“And then there was light!” I announced cockily, clasping my hands together then opening them a tad. A beautiful green orb had appeared, it was pure light pulsing as it wove in and out of itself floating between her palms. It grew as my hands expanded outwards. I blew it lightly and let it float into the middle of the dark mystical room. I raised my hand to stop it, and then took control of it. There was nothing, it was all bare!

It couldn’t be, this door would not have been locked for nothing. I moved my hand, making the opal green orb move with it, casting a calm glow upon the room. I stepped forward onto what felt like nothing. My foot stopped but there was no feeling there, like I was floating. I steadied myself on the door frame and stepped into the room with my other foot. I was floating! Wow! No. Way! This cannot be happening. Who was this Bardolph guy? I let go of the door frame and bent down to where my feet were. I touched the, umm, well there was nothing to touch really, but I put out my hand and it stopped just like my feet did. And then I did the same with my other hand. (that wasn’t controlling the orb anymore).

Suddenly it was as if the room came alive, green glowing started to appear around my feet and hands, getting brighter, and bigger. Gasping I straightened back up. Slightly scared and agitated. Aww crap! What have I done now! I turned around to leg it back through the door but it slammed in my face. I desperately pushed on the handle but it would not budge. Bloody hell! I’m gonna die! I was really freaking out, “Cål Fûřå” I said but nothing happened. So then I shouted it desperately at the door! And still nothing was happening!

Meanwhile the room had now been fully lightened, it was as if the room had mist walls, which moved and flickered opal and olive. I turned so my back was against the door.

“Hello, your name please?” a strange voice echoed through the space. “huh? What!?” I was really panicking, my breaths were quick and sharp. “Your name... please?” there it was again. Well there was no point ignoring it so I answered. “Akima...” I said it slow and clearly.

“Akima, we have been expecting you.” The same voice announced again. “What!? I don’t even know you! Let me out of here now, what the hell is this place?!” I was screaming. I turned and started trashing at the door, kicking it with all my strength. “I would not do that if I was you, one way in, no way out.” I wouldn’t stop, not until I was out. My feet started to hurt, the door was solid, no doubt about that. But I wanted to get out, I needed to get out. This is what I get for intruding.

“HELP ME!” I desperately screamed to anyone who was out there, if anyone was out there.

Some things just shouldn’t be discovered.
