"Another day!" I yawned,"That means another day we can see the forest!"
"Ugh," said a girl with long, greasy black hair. "I don't want to move."
"Too bad!, we're going to talk to Gartith!" I said proudly.
"Ok, but how are we gonna get to him. He has his guard dog Corith." she got up and put her hands on her head.
"What's wrong, Veridith?"
"I don't know... it just hurts..."
"Do you need any help?"
"N-no! I'm totally ok! Just don't worry about me! Heh, heh..."
"Um... are you ok?"
"Never mind." she covered one of her eyes with half of her hair. She got up from the grassy ground. She still had her head in her hand. She struggled to walk inside our hut. She looked as if she was about to fall. She tipped over, and I went running to try and catch her. Before I could she planted her feet into the ground. She was standing with her back bent to a very uncomfortable angle.
"H-how..." I said in awe.
"Ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow! I told myself I wouldn't do this... MY HEAD!"
Her head was on the rock path, uncushioned. I tried to help her stand up normally, but she kept falling over back into the painful position she was in. Finally, she stood up on her own. She held her back until we entered the house. "Are you gonna be okay?" I asked.
"Yep." she replied painfully.
"Okay. I believe you. Do you still wanna come with me to talk to Gartith?"
"Uh.. yeah. I'll tag along."
"Good! I'd probably die if I went alone!"
"Heh... you are the most wanted."
"That is true. Wanna know something I've never told anyone?"
"Sure, what is it"
"I wanna be a hero!"
"A- a hero?"
"Yeah!"
"You'll be killed on sight if you try to save anything, let alone making it a living. And plus, the ghoul thing..."
"I don't really care to be honest. I just wanna change this boring place!"
"Boring?", said a strange voice, "Please explain." The voice seemed to be coming from behind me. I turned around to find a young man with dark hair and light skin. He looked human like my friend Veridith. He was tall and lanky. The outfit he wore was black jeans and a long sleeved dark brown and white shirt.
"Um... well" Verdith tried to say.
"I was talking to masked boy." The man said suspiciously.
"D-don't call him that! Just because he's a ghoul doesn't mean he's just 'masked boy'" she yelled.
"Save your breath. The reason this place is boring is because nothing happens. No action... that's all."
"Funny, that's how I used to think of this place."
"Anyway, who are you?"
"I'm Corith. Anyone knows who I am, but doesn't know how to spot me in a crowd. People see me as Gartith's guard dog."
"And you aren't?"
"No, I am. I just know he can protect himself most of the time... especially since there's no danger."
