House listened till special Agent Flynn left the townhouse. He smiled maliciously and went to the window as fast as his long legs could take him. He looked for Flynn from the window trying to track him amongst the crowd. When he lost sight of him he looked at his watch and turned to Michael, who was on his third glass of Cognac. House lit another cigarette, and took a long drag. Exhaling he tilted his head and raised his eyebrows midway and sighed. Michael looked up at House and began to say,
"Well it seems to me that we shall be able to pay the rent on time for this month and depending on the severity of the case and the consultanting hours we may have enough money to pay the rent three times over." He finished as he smiled and reached for his cigars.
No doubt, that there was a lot of potential money to be had, but the cases House took were more than just mere cash and coin; they were his brainwork. A busy mind can never rest. House took another drag of the cigarette, turned and found his couch, throwing himself on it taking the cigarette and throwing it into the fireplace. He let a large sigh ring though the air. Michael, now, was puffing on his cigar. He looked upon House,
"I say, shouldn't we be getting ready to go?"
House checked his watch again.
"I suppose."
"Should I bring my pistol?"
"No. I suspect this is all very simple brain work, I'd wager the Agents just may have overlooked an important detail; I just need to set them on the right path."
"Well if we plan on going to the crime scene we should leave at once!"
"Indeed! Catch a cab and hold it. I shall meet you down there in about five minutes."
With that Michael stood and briskly walked out of the room and was in the street hailing for an open cab. House stood and ran into his bedroom, he grabbed his suit jacket and a tie then ran out to meet Micheal.
"Here. I need to get to this address in twenty minutes or less." House said, handing the cabbie the paper with the address on it.
"What do you think about this case?""Nothing yet, although I find the whole thing trivial, it seems to me that The Federal Bureau should have this in hand to be honest. The local police's crimes which I have given my consultations on has been met with success, but this might launch us into a higher paying series of interesting puzzles."
"Don't forget the pay!"
"Oh yes of course, the payout will be considerably larger than what we have been getting from the Police."
"What did you make of Mr Flynn?''
" Hmm. Oh, you mean the Special Agent? He's young, and perhaps inexperienced, but I shall test his competency in the time. Oh! I forgot my magnifying glass! "
"Fret not! I had it in my pocket!"
"Look!"
The cabbie had passed their address. Michael has started to call out to the man, and House jumped out onto the street nearly losing his footing. Alarmed that a passenger jumped out he stopped the cab immediately, he apologized and let Michael out.
