A Dragon's Secret

Chapter 3: Double Favor pt. 2

                Neefa and Hie walks two blocks straight then a three-way intersection with a mirror in a corner for drivers’ to see if there’s a vehicle in their blind spot. There’s also a sign where the name of the streets, the left street sign says “Tenshi St.”, the right sight says “Toshi St.”, while the sign pointing at the street that they’re walking says “Nako St.”. They turn to Tenshi St. and walked for another block until they arrived at a silver colored gate with a sign “Shirohana apartment”. A three-storey building with five rooms, in each floor with a capacity of five people in each room, the walls of the building are painted neatly and the yard’s grasses are well trimmed.  The stairs leading to the second and third floor is well made with metal grills. The whole place feels peaceful and serene, perfect for a lady like Neefa.

                “Here we are, this is where I live.” Neefa pointed to a room in the third floor. “My room is 305.”

                “I see, this place looks really neat.” Hie praised.

                “Yeah, that’s why I picked this place.” Neefa said. “What about you Hie-kun, where is your house?” She asks.

                “My place is at Toshi St., it’s just around the corner when you turn to that street.” Hie explained.

                “Eh? Your house is that close?” Neefa was a bit surprised.

                “Yeah. Oh, by the way, I’ll take my leave now, I got to prepare for my dinner.” Hie said as he look at his clock.

                “You live alone too? I’m alone in my apartment also, even though it can be occupied by five people, my parents paid the full price of the room so I can have it to myself.” Neefa explained.

                “I see, you must be pretty lonely. Well then, I’ll take my leave now. See you tomorrow Neefa-chan.” Hie waved goodbye.

                “See you tomorrow. And thank you Hie-kun, I’m indebted my life to you.” Neefa declared.

                Hie smiled but didn’t answer.

                That night, Hie woke up feeling uneasy. Standing from his bed, wearing nothing but a pair of boxer shorts, he looks outside his window and saw a bright light from afar. But as Hie looks closely, he noticed that the light is a large flame burning a building. But it’s not any other building.

                “Oh shit!” Hie shouted as he dashes out of his house.

                Flame and smoke, both can be seen in the dark sky illuminated by fire. There are quite a few people standing outside of a building engulfed by flame. Some people screams and shout and some are dead silent as they watch the crimson flame burn the building. Woods turning to ashes and the walls are crumbling. Cracks started to show in the wall, making the structure weak. A single girl trapped in her room, desperately looking for a way to escape the burning sensation she feels in the air, covered her face so she can’t inhale smoke. But her door is burning too, thus making it impossible for her to go through it. As she loses hope, there’s only one person came to her mind. As she again musters strength, she shouted.

                “Hie-kun!!” Neefa shouted.

                A large crushing sound was heard, louder than the fire that’s burning the weakening building. A young man, wearing a black jacket with white lining, having a upward spiky hair showing his right eye which is glowing, blood red. As he opens his mouth, a huge left canine, like a fang, was noticeable. Neefa’s fear was change into amazement, she’s looking at an extremely familiar face, was unable to say anything. Then, her vision went blur. Before she loses her consciousness, she heard a word from the man in front of her.
