"Whatever." Allison Gilbert laughed, rolling her eyes as she and Bonnie, one of her best friends, sat down at a table in the Grill. Bonnie laughs, "I'm serious. My grams keeps on saying stuff about our ancestors being from Salem and that I'm psychic or something. I really think she's losing it."
"She might be." Allison laughed again with a shrug, but then looked down at her phone ringing. She glanced up towards Bonnie, slightly confused, before answering it and placing the phone to her ear. "Hello?"
The person on the other end doesn't speak for a moment, but then, "Is this Allison Gilbert?"
"Yes." She says confused, recognizing the deputy's voice and slightly worrying, what did Jeremy do this time? "Did something happen?"
"I'm sorry, but your parents and sister were involved in an accident."
Allison nearly dropped her glass, the coffee in her cup beginning to shake because of her hand. "What kind of accident?"
"Elena Gilbert is here at the hospital."
"Where are my parents?" She asked frantically and shakily, closing her eyes briefly as a cold feeling washed over her, even though it wasn't even cold. The brunette opened her eyes, just as the deputy spoke. "I'm sorry..."
The deputy began explaining everything as she tried to listen, but after a moment, it was all just blurring together. Allison didn't hesitate before rushing out of the seat, dropping the cup in the process, but as it shattered against the floor, she was already out of the door.
After hanging up, she began driving down the road, tears already blurring her vision as she sped. "This cannot be happening... this cannot be happening..." She muttered to herself over and over again, until she made it to the parking lot and rushed inside.
Allison rushed inside with a few tears going down her cheeks, but she ignored them as she frantically looked around for one person. The only person that could confirm that this wasn't just some sick joke. Allison just couldn't fully grasp what the deputy had told her, she couldn't- just couldn't believe that her parents could be dead.
But then the young brunette's eyes spotted her, and she shook her head. "Sheriff... please tell me that it's not true."
"I'm so sorry honey." Sheriff Forbes shakes her head, a grim expression on her face and just with that, Allison could feel her heart shatter. She shook her head, more tears going down her cheeks as it seemed she couldn't breath. But then the girl heard the voice of her younger brother, "Alli..?"
Allison turned around, looking at him, but instead of speaking she just went over and wrapped him in a hug.
