I show Emily my new timetable that I got from the "headteacher" earlier on, as I called it back in America, "principal" but never mind.. I need to get use to these British words.
First lesson, I had maths. It was okay I guess.. My teacher seemed nice and she helped me with my work, you know as I've missed out what the rest of the class have been learning recently. The down sides of moving in the middle of semester.. I mean.. Term.
Miss. Limbo, as the class calls her Limbone, introduced me to the whole class before telling me the seating plan. She sat me near the front, which was okay, I don't mind. I have nobody to talk to anyways as Emily wasn't in my class.
I still don't really get the whole "Limbone" joke... Is it some sort of English joke? After class, Emily was waiting for me outside, near the bathroom. I rushed to her and we walked outside and towards a massive crowd of people.
They were all screaming and cheering, some laughing.
"What the hell is going on over there?" I whisper to Emily as we start to walk towards where the people were.
"I don't know but we are about to find out." She chuckles. She holds her arms out in front of her and pushes people out of the way, "everyone move!" She shouts really loud before everyone goes silent.
Oh no. Everyone is staring! I can't do this."Okay, Jess... You will be fine. They are probably just staring at Emily for shouting." I tell myself and I was right.
Everyone gasps as they see her and she just stares at everyone, looking confused before her facial expression changes suddenly. She goes white, as if she'd just seen a ghost.
I just slowly follow behind her as she walks towards the middle of the circle shaped crowd.
"Move!" She yells angrily, everyone backing away as we walked.I see two guys standing there. One with a black eye and the other with a bruised cheek. The guy with the bruised cheek backs up a little and the guy with the black eye spots Emily and his face falls, just as hers does too.
What the hell is going on?! A fight? Ooo! Drama.
I like it."James. How could you?!" She screams in his face.
"I was defending myself!" He shouts back, but he sounds more hurt than angry.
"You promised you wouldn't get into this shit again.." She says sadly, looking down to her feet.
"Babe please? Let me explain..." He says while trying to grab a hold of her but she just pushes him away.Okay. Boyfriend issues I'm guessing?
Everyone is still surrounding us but they are silent.
Emily turns to face me, tears rolling down her flawless face but her mascara dripping, wrecking it.
I look at her with sorrow before she runs off sobbing.I just stand there before I look at everyone, who are staring at me now. Great!
"Hey new girl! Go help your friend!" I hear someone shout from the crowd.
"Yeah! Comfort her." Another says.
"She's so upset."
"Bless her."
"I can't believe what just happened!"
"Let's go find her girls! We need to help her."
"She must be heartbroken."Suddenly, the whole crowd chat among themselves and I just stand there blankly.
I hear high heels echo the whole area and a whistle blowing so loud that it makes me jump.
"Move everyone! Scurry off now! Please." A woman shouts before everyone backs off and goes back to whatever.
The woman doesn't do anything, all she does is cross her arms and then she walks away."Hey.. Erm.. Could you speak to Emily for me.. Please?" I hear and I turn around to find James talking to me.
"Errr.. Yeah. Sure." I say awkwardly.
"Thank you. She means everything to me."
"I see." I smile.Loads of people rushed off to find her.
Where am I supposed to find her?! I don't know my way around here yet.
Emily must be popular because so many people went to find her.
I guess I was popular in America but I don't know about here yet.
