Dans POV:
Once again, we were unsuccessful with clue hunting. It was weird. Like Percy and Annabeth were bad luck or something. We trudged back to the room and lost Nellie to the pool on the way. More likely the hot tub.
I exited the elevator and jogged toward our door. Right before I reached it, I heard a thud and looked back to see Amy unconscious on the ground with a group of skeletons standing over here.
"Amy! Amy! Wake up!" I yelled, swinging at the skeletons with my sword as I ran toward them. They fell apart and I knelt next to her. I was pretty proud of myself for defeating them all by myself, but mostly I was concerned for Amy as she lay there, eyes closed like she just decided to take a nap. Suddenly the skeletons reformed and leveled their guns at me.
I flinched but stood up between Amy and them. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Percy and Annabeth come out of the room and start to run toward us, but I ignored them.
"No one touches her!" Percy stopped in his tracks when I screamed that and winced. I didn't know why, but I decided to ask later. "Back off! NOW! I shouted, raising my sword.
The main skeleton guy growled and raised his gun to my face. I knew that the barrel of that gun would be the last thing I saw.

Percy POV:
We ran out of the room and saw Dan between Amy and a group of skeletons with guns. I remembered them from when Annabeth was missing. The only reason I survived their guns was because I had the Nemean Lion's fur on. If they shot Dan, he had very little chance of surviving the shot. I sped up, determined to stab them the way Bianca had so many years before.
"No one touches her!" Dan screamed, and I froze. I remembered screaming those exact words at Kronos when Annabeth was stabbed. I winced, remembering how freaked and worried I was. I shook off the feeling and went to help Dan as the leader pointed his gun at Dan's face.
