Otaku!Zane X Otaku!Reader | Cosplay Buddy

[Cosplay Buddy]

About eight months ago, Zane and (Name) met online on a game called Dark Kingdom Online, a massive multiplayer online game, they both went on a group quest where the system teamed up five different players that were willing to work with others to do the same quest.

After the party was disbanded, (Name) sent out a friend request to Zane, the reason why is because (Name)'s character was a support mage and Zane's character was a tank, which usually in every game those two would have to work together to beat the opponent.

The two have gotten to Skype each other, but haven't seen each others face. Every time the other person was up to video chat, the other had to do something, or their webcam was broken.
The two of them have decided that they will both be going to the same anime convention to meet up and hangout together. It'll be safer then to meet up at some other random place.

_-Time Skip-_

(Name)'s POV

Ack! I'm so excited! I finally get to go to an anime convention and get to meet Zane!
Now that I think about it, should I cosplay? Who should I cosplay as? Ah, maybe I'll ask Zane. We can be cosplay buddies!

I get onto my phone and go on Skype, I tap on Zane's contact and push the call button.

Third Person POV

*Insert Skype bubbles and calling music*

"What do you want, (Name)?" Zane sighed.

"Well, I wanted to know your opinion on cosplaying, and I want us both to cosplay and kinda you know...match with each other..." (Name) giggles as she awaited Zane's response.

"I-I mean, if you want me to cosplay with you I'll do it, but I have no clue what to cosplay as." Zane nervously chuckled.

"Well, considering that we watch the same animes and have a lot in common, why don't we just make up a list of animes we reallllly like and figure out which character to cosplay. Though we don't have that much time since the convention is like a month away.." (Name) trailed off.

"Oh, how about that one...nevermind." Zane sighed.

"No! Tell me, it could be a good idea!" (Name) begged.

"It's a little embarrassing but, I was thinking of that one anime...um, My Little Monster..." Zane muted his microphone.

"...That is a great idea! I know you mentioned that you have dark hair so it'll be easy for you to cosplay as Haru!" (Name) squealed as she imagined herself cosplaying as Shizuku. "Though, I wouldn't imagine you as a bad boy." (Name) teased.

"W-Well, I can be if I wanted to." Zane stuttered.

"Haha! Anyways we need to figure out how we are gonna make these costumes." (Name) satisfyingly sighed.

"That's easy."

"Whatever! But for now, you're my cosplay buddy!"

_-Time Skip-_

Over the month, Zane easily got together his side of the duo cosplay. (Name) had to wait for her wig to come in and she had to pick out all these fabrics and hand sew them together, Zane's route of his cosplay was to buy the school uniform, hair gel, and a chain that had a key to it.

_-Time Skip-_

The day of the convention, they both flew down to California to go to AnimeExpo.

(Name) was shaking nervously as a lot of people stared and smiled at her, mostly because of her amazing job at cosplaying. She carried around a Japanese school bag, that contained a few random books that were props, a water bottle, her phone, and a camera to take 'professional' pictures with.
She walked around just a little bit, because she was quite early and she had to wait another hour to meet up with Zane. (Name) tried to hold the urge to buy everything, admit it, everything looked so cool and she just wanted to have all the merchandise.

While she was walking to the next booth, she bumped into a someone. The impact was great, and she fell on her butt.

"Uh, sorry. I should have been looking." (Name) shyly said as she scrambled to pick up the books that fell on the floor from her bag.

"(N-Name)?" The person she bumped into call her out. (Name) froze on the spotlight but she turned her head to face the person,

"Haru?" She asked puzzled.

"Heh, it's Zane, I guess I'm the only one who recognized each other's voice." Zane scratched the back of his neck, he held out a hand for (Name), she accepted it and he pulled her to her feet. "Wow, I didn't know you were this short." Zane snickered.

"Quiet! Anyways, are we suppose to get in character?" (Name) asked as she saw people were starting to stare.

"Yeah, I guess so." Zane pulled out the chain he had bought and chained him and (Name) together like in the Anime's cover.

(Name) took a deep breath, and exhaled. She put on her game face to look like the unemotional Shizuku.

_-Time Skip-_

(Name) and Zane had a great time at the convention, they walked around and got a lot of compliments like, "You guys look cute together!", "Your cosplay is awesome!", "That is my favorite anime!", "My OTP~!". They also bought a lot of merchandise, because (Name) couldn't resist.

But, their fun came to an end as the convention was closing down for the day.

"I had a lot of fun today." (Name) smiled as the two of them walked to the same hotel. Coincidence.

"I did too." Zane said as he walked into the elevator, the two had a casual conversation about games and anime, normal things to them.

"Well, this is my room." (Name) giggled as she sounded cliche.

"I'm pretty excited for tomorrow. I brought an extra cosplay just for it." Zane scratched the back of his neck.

"Aww, really? You should have told me to bring another one." (Name) sighed. "I-I'm excited for tomorrow too. Goodnight Zane." (Name) swiftly pecked Zane on his lips and ran into her room and locked it.

"Heh." Zane grinned from ear to ear as he unlocked his door. "My cosplay buddy."

Isn't Zane just a cutie when it's a modern time era? Like I love him more when its PDH or MyStreet.
