"Please, Lisa? Come with us, the boys are really laid back."
I sighed and looked at Ro. Her and Tionne have been trying to get me to come to the studio with them so Rozonda can see her boyfriend. Ren, I think his name is.
"Fine, just to get y'all to shut up, I'll come."
Ro's face lit up as she smiled brightly. "Yay! Now can we get a move on? My boo is waiting."
I giggled at her excitement and grabbed my jacket. We all headed out the door, Chilli being the first one, of course.

"Lisa, these are the boys. Ren, Eazy, Cube, Yella, and Dre." She said the last name as if she were disgusted by it. "Y'all, this is my girl Lisa."
"Wassup." Eazy greeted. I waved and answered, "Hey."
"Damn, are all your friends this fine?" Yella asked T. Eazy backed him up saying, "Word, that's a wife."
I blushed, and smiled at them. "Thank you."
Chilli rolled her eyes at the boys and pulled me aside. "Ignore them, they flirt with every pretty girl they see." She whispered. "You should go talk to the mean one over there, he's a little bit more chill than the other four." She told me, pointing to one of the boys with a notebook and pen in his hand.
I nodded and walked over to him, sitting down.
"Hi, I'm Lisa."
He looked up at me from his notebook. "Hey. I'm Cube, or "the mean one" to quote Rozonda."
I laughed lightly. "I noticed you're kind of branched out from the others... what're you writing?"
He handed me his notebook and let me read it. At the top of the page "Boyz In The Hood" were written in big letters, what I assumed were lyrics filled the rest of the page.
"You wrote this?" I asked, he nodded. "This is really good, are you from here?"
"No, I'm from Crenshaw. But I spend most of my time here, since this is where my boys live. What about you?"
"Born and raised in East Compton. Are y'all working on an album?"
"Yeah, we're actually in a group, N.W.A."
"N.W.A is definitely gonna be big if you keep writing songs like this."
"We hope so. We're proud to be from South Central, but we're trying to make it out. Too much goes on here." Cube explained.
"You ain't lying. I write too, but it's just for fun." I admitted.
"Word? Let me hear something."
"Um, maybe later. I don't have anything right now." I told him, really just trying to avoid rapping.
He kissed his teeth and smirked. "Okay. But don't think I'll forget."
We both laughed.
"Come on, Le Le. We're about to leave." Tionne told me. I rolled my eyes.
"Now hold up. You and Ro have been bothering me all day to come with you, then we're only here for twenty minutes before y'all ready to go?" I asked, annoyed.
"Sorry. We usually stay longer but my mom wants me home and Chilli wants to go home with Ren so we have to leave." T explained.
I huffed and stood up. "That's no fair."
Cube chuckled. "I can take you home if you want."
My eyes lit up and I smiled as Rozonda did earlier. "Yeah, Cube can take me home." I looked at Tionne with hopeful eyes like she was my mother and I was a little kid. T is the mommy of the group.
She kissed her teeth. "It's messed up how y'all are making me go home by myself, but go ahead. You're grown, you can do what you want, girl."
"Thank you, Ti Ti!" I hugged her and got ready to leave with Cube.
