THIRD PERSON POVHazel was exhausted. It was a long practice. She ran off the field to get her stuff to leave. "Hazel, wait up." Leah ran up to Hazel. "I wanted to give you something." Leah handed Hazel an envelope. Hazel opened it. "Leah, I cant except this." It was an a weekend at a spa. It was a spa you had to be a member of. Like a country club. "This is too expensive. Besides I cant get in to a place like this." Leah smiled. "I want you to spend the weekend there with me." Leah kissed Hazels cheek and walked away before Hazel could give back the gift. "I will pick you up in the morning at 8." Leah said as she ran off. "What am I going to do now?"
Hazel came out of the locker room and headed to her car. Tina was kind of enough to bought her a car because sometime Hazel need to sent the flowers herself. Tina even paid for the driving lesson. To her surprise Alle was there leaning on her car. "Hey." Hazel smiled very happy to see Alle standing there. "I was hoping you would let me take you to dinner. "Oh well I would love to but I am not really dressed for dinner. I just finished practice."
Alle closed the gap between them. "You look prefect." Hazel's heart melted. "I would love to have dinner with you." Alle opened the door for Hazel and she got in. As Alle got in the car her phone alerted her to a text. Alle looked at it and then turned to Hazel. Before dinner I have to make a stop. If that's ok with you." "That's ok with me." Alle pulled into a driveway and went around to open the door for Hazel. They walked into the home and Alle was greeted by a young girl. A pregnant girl. "Alle! Hi."
Alle hugged her. "Hi Suzi. How are you feeling?" Suzi shrugged. "Not too bad. I have another check up tomorrow." They walked through the house and there were many girls and women of all ages. Alle seemed to know all of them. There were kids as well but not one man anywhere. Hazel followed Alle into an office and Alle shut the door. "Alle? What is this house for?" Alle looked at her. "Oh I'm sorry. I should have told you before we got here. This is a place my parents opened. It is a shelter for women of any age. Some have been abandoned. Some were abused. Some are young girls who got pregnant and then thrown out by there parents and the father wanted nothing to do with them."
Hazel was very surprised at what she was being told. "The young girl who greeted me at the door, she had been raped by her step brother. When she told her parents what he did, they blamed her and then threw her out. Mommy found her sleeping in the park. She was sick and had not been eating much. She almost lost the baby. My parents pay for everything for these women and help them find jobs and when they save enough, they find them a new place to live to get back on their feet. I have grown up coming here and helping too."
Hazel's eye's teared up. "I wish someone would have done something like this for me. Your family has made a difference in so many lives." Hazel looked at the wall. It was filled with pictures of women and children. "Are these all women who have lived here?" Alle nodded and walked over to where Hazel was. "Yes. We still keep in contact with all of them." Someone knocked on the door. "Come in." Suzi walked in. "Alle would you both like to stay and have dinner with us?" Alle looked at Hazel and she nodded. "We would love to."
Suzi smiled and shut the door. "Are you sure you don't mind staying? I promised you dinner out." Hazel nodded. "I would love to get to know this side of you even more. These women are strong and staying would be a perfect way to spend time with you." Alle was blown away by Hazel. Kylie was the only other person she shared this part of her life with. Kylie was different and Hazel just might be too. They walked out to where all the other women where at and they ate dinner.
They had a wonderful time talking and sharing stories. The kids were very sweet with Hazel and the more Hazel was there, the more she wanted to come back and help these women too. Some of them have been through similar situations as she had. This could be a great thing of all of them. Now the only thing Hazel had to worry about was Leah.
