Evita's POV
"Why'd he say it like that?" A voice from behind me asked. I turned sharply to see a girl with muddy red hair and forest green eyes. She was leaning against one of the hot, stone brick walls. She sat up under my gaze and sighed.
"Lucilla." She said, "That's my name, what's yours?"
"Evita." I told her. "Can I call you Lucy?"
"Sure. Now, why did he word it like that?" Lucy asked, her tone serious.
"Oh, it's nothing." I said, not sure if I could trust this girl.
"I'm sorry about this, but I really need to know." Lucy said. She held up her hand and a blazing fire appeared there. She spun it in a ball and threw it. I had no idea what she was doing but I held up y arms in front of me and a purple force field was created.
"What was that for?" I demanded, less angry and more confused.
"Do that again, do that magic again." She ordered. I furrowed my eyebrows but did it anyway. She gasped and moved backwards slightly, obviously trying to disappear into the wall. "You're Ianite's daughter, aren't you?"
I was confused, I thought about her magic and backed into the opposite wall. "You're Dianite's daughter, aren't you?"
She hung her head and sighed, "Yeah, but I wish I wasn't." She said. I went closer towards her.
"Do you not like your Dad?" I assumed.
"I hate him! I want to leave! I want your life, you're Mum is the best." She said the last sentence a little dejectedly and her shoulders sagged.
"We can get out of here, we can go to the overworld, or, to my turf." I promised, "You seem like a good person, we can escape."
"You might." She said. This girl is really depressed
"If I get out, you're coming with me." I told her.
She sat up a little straighter and smiled. "Thanks, and I-" She was cut off by a loud banging sound. We both froze as the sound became closer.
Then, Tucker's faint voice called, "Tom! Try over there!"
"Tom!" Lucy and I both exclaimed. Lucy's voice, however, was worried while mine was hopeful. I saw Tom come running in and froze when he saw Lucy, his hand on the hilt of his sword which hung on his waist.
"Lucilla." He said, not taking his eyes off of her as he walked slowly closer to us.
"Tom." Lucilla replied, staring him down.
"Am I missing something here?" I asked, looking between the two.
"She's Dianite's daughter!" Tom exclaimed.
"He's Dianite's champion!" Lucy exclaimed.
"Yeah, and neither of you are evil! Can we get out of here now?" I asked.
"Fine." Tom spat, he raised his sword and broke open the cell. He reached out his hand for me and I took it, standing up. I helped Lucy up and Tom lead up out, passing me a dagger for protection. When we went up we saw Mianite fighting Dianite.
"Give me back my sister and niece!" Mianite ordered, neither him nor Dianite noticing me.
"She's my sister and my niece too Mianite!" Dianite countered.
Mianite noticed me, "Give me back my sister." He ordered.
"What, don't care about your niece anymore?" Dianite sneered.
"I already have my niece." Mianite said.
"Tucker, Sonja, Jordan, get Evita out of here." Tom whispered as we reached the three.
Dianite had turned and saw me, he created fire in his hand but I made the force field again, this time I made it to cover, Tom, Lucy, Tucker, Sonja, Jordan and I. I held it up as we got out, but soon it was too much magic. The force field fizzed out and the corners of my vision turned black before I blacked out.
I woke up in the priests house, and sat up. I had been under a blanket which I pushed off and stood up. I still felt pretty week but saw a potion next to the bed with a note taped to it. I unfolded it and read,
Evita, this is a strength potion, drink it when you wake up then go to Mianite's temple
I set the note down and popped the cap off of the bottle. I drank it and almost instantly felt better. I walked out of the priests house and started walking towards the temple. I was going to teleport there, but decided that wouldn't be a good idea.
"Evita! Are you okay?" Tom asked, running towards me.
"Yep." He engulfed me in a tight hug that squished my ribs. "A little less okay." He quickly let go and walked with me to my uncle's temple. When we got there we found Sonja and Tucker glaring at Lucy, both of their arms crossed. Sonja's gaze was more innocent, curious. But Tucker's gaze was stiff and threatening. They all turned as they heard my footsteps on the marble floor. And Mianite came out.
He walked up to me, a kind smile on his face as he said, "Come, child, let's talk."
