After we got in my X-Terra, counted to three, screamed and squealed at the top of our lungs, I started driving to Tammy's house. It wasn't a far drive; she lived just ouside of Atlanta. Evie was asleep by the time I pulled into the driveway, so I left the car running with the air on low.

I knocked on the front door and then opened it, meeting the bright orange walls of the hallway, pictures of me, Jarod, and Aiden everywhere. Aiden only has one picture with Jarod. It was in the hospital when I gave birth to him. The wardens let Jarod come, partly because of good behavior, partly because he was accompanied by two officers. I was the first one to hold my son, a demand I made sure was made, but Jarod held him next, which was when the picture was taken. He had to go back to jail soon after.

Other pictures were of me and Jarod right before our homecoming, our first date, a wedding on his side of the family that he took me to, and just random pictures we took by ourselves. I used to be so in love with him; I thought he was the one. But there's no such thing as love that lasts a lifetime. Life was no fairytale. There were a few pictures of Aiden on his first and second birthday. He was born in Decemeber, and he's wanted it to snow ever since he was capable of understanding what snow was. But it almost never snows in Georgia.

"Mallorie my dear, is that you?" I heard Tammy ask from the kitchen.

I walked down the hallway and to the right where the pastel yellow kitchen was. "Hey Nanny," I said. "You made cookies." There was a tray of chocolate chip cookies on the table.

Nanny nodded. "Yes, Aiden insisted," she said as she washed dishes from the sink. Tammy was an old-fashioned woman, always doing things by hand. She didn't own a dishwasher, and I kind of admired her for her views on life.

"Mommy?" I heard Aiden's voice from the hallway. He was rubbing his light green eyes- the same as Jarod's- sleepily.

"Hey baby, why aren't you asleep? It's late," I said, opening my arms for him to come to me.

He did. He basically collapsed in my arms from sleepiness. "Was waiting for you," he muttered, burying his face in my neck.

I sat down in a kitchen chair and held him, slowly rubbing his back just how he likes.

"So how was the game?" Nanny asked.

I giggled and told her every detail, including when Archer Jameson and Asher Colton chased Evie and I down.

"Do you think you'll see this man again?" Nanny asked with a raised eyebrow.

I rolled my eyes. "No way. He's a twenty-seven year old professional baseball player. He could have any woman he wants. A model, or actress perhaps. He'd never want a mentally broken teen mother," I said, stroking Aiden's short blond hair. "But I wouldn't change a thing as long as I have Aiden."

"You have me Mommy," he whispered, kissing my cheek. "Fuh ever and ever."

I smiled and kissed the tip of his nose. "Then I'm happy."

"Did you tell Archer Jameson about..." she trailed off, nodding towards Aiden.

I immediatly shook my head. "No, there was no reason to. He would've jumped to conclusions anyway, and I'm not about to tell anyone my 'sob story'. I refuse to be pitied by the more fortunate of people, if you know what I mean."

Nanny nodded. "Well my dear, you have a loving family even if we're not blood related. Tommy and I love you like a daughter," she said, brushing my bangs off of my face. Tommy was Tammy's husband. I've always laughted at the closeness of their names.
