Alec hated clubs, he hated mundane music, he hated the flashing lights and fake smoke, he hated the sweaty crowd, he hated the dancing, and more than anything else he hated that he hated it. Jace and Isabelle had persuaded Alec to come, maybe threatened him into coming was a more accurate description. This club was worse than mundane only clubs. Alec always got nervous when his world and the mundane world collided where it shouldn't. Werewolves, nixies, fairies and the occasional vampire mixed here, with the mundanes. Alec suspected that Jace and Izzy liked coming here because of the displeasure it caused the downworlders. Alec leaned against the end of the bar, away from the crowd and sipped his drink, observing the dance floor. He checked the time on his phone, just to have something to do. Alec compared his attire to the rest of the club, underdressed didn't start to sum up the differences, he was wearing worn out jeans, a faded black t-shirt and his usual boots. Isabelle had worn a short blue dress, Alec saw how the eyes of Downworlders and mundanes alike followed her, he didn't like it. A man appeared at the bar next to Alec, his face silleutted by the lights behind him. "I'll have a Brazilian." He said leaning on the bar. Alec noticed him, Alec noticed everyone, though he was rarely noticed. "Can I buy you a drink?" The man asked, and Alec recognized the smooth flirtation in his voice. "Why?" Alec asked. "Just to talk. I swear." The warlock replied. Alec weighed his options between a free drink and talking to Magnus Bane. Magnus had made no secret of his feelings for Alec. "One drink." Alec almost smiled. "What're you drinking?" Magnus inquired. "Scotch neat." Alec answered. "That is a repulsively boring drink." Magnus' gold green cat eyes sparkled. "A scotch neat also, please." Magnus said to the bartender. Magnus sat on the barstool next to Alec. "What do you want to talk about?" Alec asked sipping his free drink. "What are you doing here?" Magnus asked, picking up his glass with a jewel adorned hand. "Drinking." Alec said sarcastically. "You're so difficult. Alexander. This is their scene," Magnus motioned to the other shadowhunters on the dance floor. "not yours. You just follow them around like a sick puppy." Magnus said gently. "Did you buy me a drink just so you could call me a dog?" Alec asked. "No, of course not, I just wanted to encourage you." Magnus said his eye shadow glittered. "To do what?" Alec finished his drink with a long sip. "Whatever you want to do." Magnus smiled
What Alec didn't notice was the boy at the other end of the bar.

Magnus clung heavily to Alec, who was confused by the warlocks statement. "Can you heal yourself?" Alec asked. Magnus had felt his power begin to return the moment the chains had been taken off. He moved his fingers and slight blue sparks sizzled between them, "I will be able to, I just need a few minutes." Magnus said. "We have to move." Alec said moving toward the invisible door. "Izzy." Alec pointed toward the door with his free hand. Isabelle began scrawling open runes on the door. After a third one it finally diminished. Isabelle lead the way down the tunnel, Alec following close behind her and ushering Magnus to move faster.

The boy's attention to Alec did not escape Magnus' notice, he saw the way he looked at Alec, his eyes followed him, not the way Magnus' eyes followed him. After a while Alec thanked Magnus for the drink, And left with his fellow shadowhunters. Magnus moved to the other end of the bar. "I saw you watching him." Magnus said. "Did you now? Warlock." The boy asked, in what should have passed as a charming tone. Magnus smiled sharply "if you know who I am, then you know what I can do." Magnus said, blue magic webbed his fingers. "That's correct." The boy replied. "If you touch him." Magnus said leaning closer. "I will kill you. In the most undesirable way imaginable. Without a second thought." Magnus finished.

"Leave me." Magnus said pulling away from Alec. "No." Alec said torn between catching Jace and leaving the warlock helpless. Finally the tunnel opened into a round cave. Four small demons had joined Sebastian, Jace was pulling a second angel blade as Isabelle's whip whirled out and killing one of the demons. Alec sat Magnus by the doorway and ran to join his parabatai. Magnus' body ached, he moved his hand and powerful blue sparks crackled from his fingers. The wounds on his body started to heal, slowly draining his power again. He watched the shadowhunters battle with the demons. Waiting for his strength to return, again. After dispatching two of the smaller demons Isabelle moved toward Sebastian, his black eyes looked slightly concerned, her whip flew out, just as Jace and Alec finished off their demons. Everyone stared in disbelief, as Sebastian caught the end of Isabelle's whip, and yanked her toward him, Alec's eyes widened. When Isabelle was close enough Sebastian's hand shot out and sent her flying across the cave, she landed hard against the wall, and fell to the ground, a curtain of black hair covered her face. Alec screamed his sisters name, his blue eyes fixed on her, his face contorting in pain and worry. He ran toward Sebastian, wrapping his hands around the other boys neck. Sebastian's eyes were fixed on Alec's in surprise. Magnus was focusing on Alec, as was Jace who's mouth hung open at the sight of his parabatai. A new demon emerged from nowhere and grabbed Jace from behind, an arm around his neck. Jace struggled to get free, kicking backwards, the demon was too strong. "Alec!" Jace managed. Alec turned letting go of Sebastian and ran to aid his parabatai, sinking an angelic blade into the demons side. Jace dropped almost gracefully to the ground. Sebastian was headed toward Alec, nether of the shadowhunters had time to react to him. A bolt of blue fury flew from Magnus' hands, sending Sebastian flying backward, landing against a far wall. The strength of the bolt started rocks falling. Soon the crevice that Sebastian had landed in was covered with them. "Magnus!" Alec screamed shielding his sister from the falling rocks. Magnus summoned a portal, and passed out.

Magnus groaned, struggling to open his eyes, when he did he realized that he was in his own bed, under his favorite Persian blanket. Catarina Loss came into view, sitting next to his bed, the room was bright, filled with early morning sun. "What did I do?" Magnus questioned, pulling his blanket over his head. "What didn't you do?" Magnus' blue skinned friend replied. When Magnus didn't speak, Catatina continued. "You possibly killed Sebastian." She said. "What?" Magnus asked moving the cover so he could see her, she wasn't kidding. "Yes, if he's dead, they have you to thank." She almost sounded impressed. "You almost got yourself killed doing it though, and saving that Lightwood boy." Now she looked more annoyed than impressed. "Alec?" Magnus said quietly. "How is the girl?" Magnus added. "She's fine, the silent brothers took care of her." Catatina answered. "I suppose they all scurried back to their precious institute the moment we returned?" Magnus sounded a little disappointed. "They took the girl back, yes, but one of them came back, he's waiting to talk to you."
