SEPARATING PARAGRAPHS

Now, this is vital. If there's no spacing, you will lose many readers interest. I know if I am reading a story, it HAS to have spacing. Without the start of new paragraphs, your work will look unprofessional. Here's an example of my story Only You, but with the whole first part in one paragraph.

The thing is, nobody wants to read something with a really long paragraph for a whole chapter. It makes you feel like you are reading a whole persons life story and you don't know if it will ever end.

SECONDLY:

You HAVE to start a new paragraph when someone else begins a new dialogue. If two different characters are speaking, you have to begin a new paragraph when one stops talking and the other starts.

It's not being picky, that is legitimately how you are supposed to write.

If I open up a fanfic that looks like example one, I will immediately close out of it.
