"Are you sure you want to go?" Maggie asks me as I'm getting ready to leave for the 'business deal.'
"Yeah Maggie. I'm sure." I say sadly. I smile sadly. "You're gonna have the baby safely. Denise is here. She knows what's she's doing."
She nods and hugs me tightly. She walks over to Glenn, giving her goodbyes.
I move onto Carly and she gives me a hug before I even say hello.
"Why are you leaving me?" She groans playfully, tilting her head back.
I smile sadly and stop myself from crying.
"You know I have to Carly." I say sadly. She nods and gives me another big hug.
"Be safe. Come back soon."
He goes to stand next to Maggie. I know from what Carl and everyone has told me, that her and Maggie have been getting close. They're almost best friends which is awesome because they're both like family to me.
I walk over to Katy next. I hug her tightly.
She breathes sadly with tears in her eyes. "I don't want you to go."
"I don't either." I admit. She furrows her eyebrows but nods. "I'll miss you, Kat."
She smiles at my old nickname for her. She hates it but let's me call her it anyway.
"Same here, M." She looks at me as I groan at her nickname for me.
I pull her in for a hug and she holds me tightly.
We hug for about two or three minutes until Rick tells us that we're packing up and leaving.
I sigh and pull away, not wanting to.
"I'll see you soon." Katy waves me off as she goes to stand with Maggie and Carly.
Carl spots me and gives me a small side hug, placing his soft lips on my temple.
We start to pile into the RV, Carl sitting next to me. I lay my head on his shoulder gently and close my eyes sleepily.
I'm so tired. I haven't slept mostly all the time I've been in Alexandria. Well, only a little I guess.
I've been with Carl for the past few days, just hanging out with him. I love his company, being in his arms. I can't love it though. It can't last.
He wraps his strong arm around me and kisses my forehead multiple times. I smile and dig my head deeper into the crook of his neck.
"You two are so cute." Glenn comments, smiling.
Carl smiles back and nods. "Yeah, I know. But she's the cute one here."
I hate that. I hate when Carl downgrades himself. It makes me unhappy because I know he's perfect. Well as close as perfect can get in my opinion.
I scuff and shake my head. "Oh shut up, I'm not."
He sits me up, holding me by the shoulders.
"You need to know that you're absolutely perfect." I blush and shake my head looking away.
"You need to shush, Grimes."
He smiles and pecks my lips. I lay back into the comfortable position I was in before and close my eyes.
Suddenly, the RV stops sending me flying into Carl. He holds onto me protectively, holding my shoulders for support.
"Damn, Abraham needs to learn to drive safer. Geez." I comment, standing up. Carl laughs slightly before getting up also.
We climb out of the big RV and crowd around.
It was dark out now, I assume it's the early morning, maybe a couple of hours until dawn. We're attacking at dark because it's much easier not to be seen.
"We all know what we're doing, right?" Rick asks, unsure and if he doesn't believe in us. Most of us nod. "Carl and Mary are gonna be on the East side of the satellite. Tara, Gabriel and Jesus. We keep Jesus in the shadows, so they don't suspect us, so they don't know who or where were from." He shrugs slightly. "This is how we eat. This is how we eat."
Rick walks towards me and Carl, looking a little displeased.
"You guys know what you're doing?" He asks.
I look at Carl then back at Rick. "We know how to handle ourselves. Child solider, remember?" I laugh slightly.
He nods and hands Carl a rifle. "You remember how to use that?"
Carl looks at me then back at his dad. "Uh... no."
Rick sighs. "Carl. You reload here-"
I cut him off. "Why can't I use it?"
They both look at me. "Well I don't think you know how to use it." Carl says.
I raise my eyebrows and scuff. "I know more than you."
I take the rifle and reload it, putting another bullet in it. Rick and Carl tilt their heads to the side and laugh.
"Damn girl." Rick mutters with a slight laugh.
I shrug. "But I don't know how to work it." I say sarcastically. I pass the rifle over to Carl and walk off towards the truck/car we're suppose to stake out in, swaying my hips.
I can feel eyes on me and it's probably Carl staring at my ass; again.
"She's a handful." I hear Rick mutter to Carl as I get into the drivers side of the car.
"Yeah, but she's mine, I can control her." He smirks. Rick hands him another gun and a knife aswell as the rifle.
I start up the car, the engine making a noise. I shut the car door, rolling down the window as Carl walks over.
"You handle me then?" I remark, smirking, talking to him out of the window.
"Hmm..." he gets into the car and shuts the door. "I don't think I can tame you."
I smirk. "That's correct, Grimes."
I start driving as Carl and I converse between each other.
It's like being on a fucking road trip.
