"What the fuck is this?" Michael asked, holding up a tangled string of lights that were weirdly elongated, he'd probably said the F word enough times to fill a page by now and they'd only just begun.

Calum was really excited to decorate Michael's house, mostly because one couldn't exactly make dorms Christmas-y no matter how hard you tried. That, and Michael had no idea what to do with half the stuff Calum supplied and ended up with an adorable, confused pout on his face.

"They're supposed to mimic the look of icicles, nerd." Calum muttered, rolling his eyes as he attempted to sort out the tinsel. Maybe he was feeling a little tired out by now, Michael and him had only strung up a few lights in the windows and Michael wrestled one of the wire reindeer instead of putting it on the lawn like Calum suggested, it was clear from that point that putting a decapitated reindeer on the lawn wasn't very festive, even if it was only constructed of lights and wire.

"What about this?" Michael asked, pulling what looked to be an overly large sock from the box at his feet.

"Stocking," Calum mumbled, nestling up on the chair across from Michael. It must have been the long drive over that really tired him out but Michael's insistent questions only seemed to form a lullaby for Calum, helping him fall into a deeper sleep.

"That really doesn't help Calum, I've been avoiding Chris-" Michael shut up as soon as he looked over at Calum, the boy was sound asleep, within seconds of curling p on the couch. Maybe Michael was a little hurt that he couldn't keep the lad awake just by talking to him, he just wasn't the most interesting person when it came down to it. He didn't even celebrate very many holidays, and he worked a shitty desk job most days, he was the definition of boring.

Even though Michael was feeling kind of hurt that he reduced Calum to dozing, he couldn't help but admit that the guy was cute.

Here Calum was, asleep with his left cheek squished up against the arm of the sofa, emitting very light snoring noises in his curled up state. He shivered in his sleep and Michael had to resist the urge to race for the nearest blanket to turn Calum into a little blanketed bundle of soft snores and twitchy noses.

He cooed when Calum scratched at his nose and slowly turned around in his sleep. That was also around the time Michael realized that he was blatantly staring at the boy. It was hard not to, but it definitely made him feel like a massive creep. Tech Support by day, Calum Creeper by night

It wasn't until Calum shivered once more that Michael started moving. It seemed mildly cliche to carry the sleepy Calum to bed, but it would have been rude to wake him up and tell him to hit the hay and Michael was not that type of asshole.

So he swept Calum up into his arms with careful precision he didn't know he was capable of and Calum pushed his head further into the side of Michael's neck while he was sleeping, the soft snores coasting hotly against the older boy's pale skin.
