Staring at the empty wine glass
Thinking about the bittersweet past
Love, where did you run and hide
Your promises of forever turned to be lies.

When you came I thought it would last
But staring at the glass I watched you pass,
Gone from my grasp were your memories
Blew it away with the night's breeze.

Now I understand why the ones who loved
Gave up saying it was too much.
Fell out of it, climbed out of the well
When you realize you've been dwelling in hell.

All those years wasn't easy to give away
But during the farewell there wasn't much for me to say.
I climbed out to the hell alone, where
You pushed me with you, left you there.

This poem means a lot to me because it is a fragrance of my life. I may have not lived it but understanding the emotions of the other so well that you could write a freaking poem about it is something.
