The year is 1997. Alan Striker had just woken up coughing his lungs out. He wasn't a smoker and he sure was working down in the mines. In fact, he was a chemist in Matteson, Illinois. His main study being radiation. He lived at home with his wife Lily and their soon to be son, Robert. They lived in a cheap apartment along Lake Shore Drive. Their house was practically falling apart and they had no money left after Lily's first surgery.
