"Honey, we're home!" My mom calls out and I look up from bottle feeding the puppy.

"Hi, Mom." I half smile and gently clean him. Her eyebrows go up as she examines Michael and I around the puppy.

"What's this?" Greg asks walking over.

"Oh, uh, this is-" I start.

"This is a puppy I found in the side of the road and brought home." Michael cuts me off picking the puppy up. Greg and Mom examine the puppy and look at eachother.

"Just know that it's your responsibility." Greg shakes a scolding finger at us. My mom nods in agreement, clearly drunk, before the both walk up to their room.  I look over at Michael and watch him set the puppy in a box bed we made and starts walking to our room.

"I'm going to bed now." He says and shuts the door to our room. Well damn, what happened to your mood. After a couple more episodes of shows on Netflix I get up and quietly walk into my room. I make sure Michael's asleep before I change into some spandex and a tank top.

Just as I'm starting to drift off, I hear Michael whisper.

"Jennie? Are you awake?" He whispers.

"Yes" I groan not happy with being woken.

"When we go to school tomorrow, stay away from Josh." He says quietly. I sit up and turn in the light looking at him.

"He seems like a nice guy, what'd he do to you?" I ask tilting my head to the side.

"A lot of stuff went down...just believe me he's a bad guy." Michael says also sitting up.

"Michael, I'm going to talk to whoever I want to. You don't own me." I cross my arms and raise an eyebrow.

"Fine but don't come running to me when you get hurt." He snaps and lays  back down.

"Whatever." I roll my eyes and turn the light off. I stare up at the ceiling thinking about school tomorrow. I should probably go to sleep it's already three, I have to be up in three hours. I slowly drift off and it seems like I had just closed my eyes when my alarm clock starts screaming at me. I groan and roll out of bed seeing Michael already pulling his shirt on.

"Good morning, sunshine." He smirks. I roll my eyes walking past him and flip him off and shut the bathroom door.

"Oh ouch." I hear him chuckle causing me to smile. I get in the shower and quickly wash my hair then jump out and blowdry my hair. I do my makeup which is just the usual winged eyeliner, mascara, foundation, and blush. I decide to straighten my hair then I out in a plain, tight, black crop top and some acid washed shorts. I slip on white converse and grab my backpack.

"Good morning, Jennie." My mom smiles handing me a plate. I look to see Michael sitting at the table eating his breakfast and bottle feeding the puppy. I set my plate down and scoop food into Maxie's bowl.

"Morning." I yawn and fix myself a plate. Michael and I eat in silence before the bus gets here and he bolts out and I follow slower behind him.

When I get in the bus I look around hoping Michael had saved me a seat, but he was already surrounded by his friends. I look around and see an empty row in the back. As I walk down the aisle to the back a couple of Michael's friends start catcalling me.

"Damn, new girl." One shouts.

"Hey girl, you can sit right here." Another teases patting his groin area. I ignore them and take my seat in the back. The bus trip was boring and no one talked to me. Everyone took a seat away from me and looked at me and whispered to there friends, then looked back at me. All the staring started making my feel uncomfortable and I quickly got off of the bus.

I half jog to the front offiice trying to dodge all the unwanted attention of the new girl. I reach the office and walk up to the front desk.

"Hi, can I help you?" A short dark haired lady smiles at me.

"Uh, yeah, I'm new here and I need to get my schudele." I say looking around nervously.

"Yes of course! What's you're name dear?" She asks to cheerfully.

"Jennie Johnson ." I say look out at all the people walking around.

"Here you are, sweetie. And if you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask any of the teachers." She smiles. I thank her and walk out looking for my locker.

By the time I finally found my locker, the bell rang and everyone rushed to their class. I quickly opened my locker and grabbed my things and jogged to class. When I opened the door everyone turned and looked at my.

"Sorry." I said quietly unsure of what to do now.

"Ah, you must be the new student, Jennie, correct?" A male teacher asks me turning away from his computer.

"Yes, that's me." I try my best to sound enthusiastic but it comes out as sarcasm.

"Ok, class," he raises an eyebrow, "this is Jennie Johnson. She moved here over spring break and is our new student here. Please make her feel welcome." He smiles. All the stares and whispers make me feel insecure again, and I cross my arm over my stomach.

"There's an open seat in the back," he says nodding towards the back. I turn around to look where he pointed and saw none other than, the pizza delivery boy himself, Josh. Josh smirks at me and i give him a small smile as I sit down.

I feel him looking me up and down but try to keep my attention on the Teacher, Mr. Berk I later found out his name. When the class was finally over I rushed out trying to not be late to my next class. As I turned the corner I ran straight into a tall blonde girl.

"Oh! I'm so sorry!" she cries and helps me gather my stuff.

"My bad, I should've watched where I was going." I blushed and smiled at her.

"You're the new girl right?" she asks and I nod, "well, my name is Stephanie, welcome to Cali." She giggles and shakes my hand.

"Nice to meet you, Stephanie. My name is Jennie." I shake her hand back. We compare classes and find out that we have all of our classes together but first block.

"Hey, find me at lunch. I'll introduce you to some of my friends," she offers, "do you play any sports?" She asks.

"Um, yeah, I played varsity volleyball for my old highschool team." I say.

"OMG! I'm a varsity volleyball here! You should totally try out next week!" She squeals.

"I'll think about it. But I don't want to be late to first block." I smile excusing myself politely, "I'll find you at lunch." She nods and hugs me and we both hurry to class.

Today is going to be a long, long, long day.
