The Climb

Chapter One

I had just gotten home from school. I shut the door behind me and ran to turn on the a.c. This Florida heat was killing me! I grabbed a bag of chips and threw my self onto the couch. Quickly grabbing the remote and turned on the t.v. and then took out my homework from the day. Every now and then I would look up from my algebra to see what was happening on the news. Unlike any other 16 year old I prefer watching news over the bachelor or pretty little liars. I called mom to ask when she was coming home. Normally she would be home by now, but maybe she had to work late. It ringed for about five times when I finally gave up. This isn't like her she always answers me. Especially if I'm home alone. About five minutes later I look up at the t.v. It was making that warning sound. You know when there is a tornado or something. I ran outside the weather couldn't be any better. Until I saw it. A huge cloud of dust. It was about 300 meters away which wasn't far from my large farm house. I grabbed my phone and car keys. I was knocked down by the earthquake making a hole in my brand new designer jeans. Oh well all I had on my mind was getting out of here.
I was driving for about 20 minutes.I was heading to my mom's work. My mom would know what to do. I have never experienced a earthquake like this I have no idea what to do. I pulled into the parking lot of my mom's work. She is an accountant. I ran up the stairs running all the way to her office. No-one was anywhere  to be seen. I stopped at my mom's door when I felt a shaking. I opened the door and Sat in the doorway. I knew I should be safe here. The rumbling and shaking turned violent. I held onto the door with a tenacious grip. I looked up and saw Cracks in the floor. The building shifted and items off of my mom's desk fell off. I did the unthinkable. I got up and ran ran all the way down the stairs that could barely hold me. I ran out the door only to find the other half if the road gone. I ran the opposite way. I turned around and looked behind me millions of cracks were racing for only one target, me. Before I knew it I was falling into the earth.

Alright so this is the first chapter of my book hope you liked it!!! I will be switching point of views from Hayden to Skylar. Therefore each chapter is going to be a lot different! Also I know the chapters are short but I will be uploading twice a week for sure, but sometimes I get into the story and cant stop writing so maybe 3 times
